Title: Rick Rock.
Post by: dameons on May 30, 2009, 06:01:29 PM
Man , this guy had some serious momentum for 7 or 8 years until recently. Nowadays , he is nowhere to be seen . How do u go from having Dre rapping on your tracks ( Symphony in X major ) and putting out monster tracks for all of the big artists ( Jay Z , Fab , Mase , Eric Sermon , Will Smith , B Legit , Snoop , WC , G Unit , on and on and on ) to disappearing into thin air . I think he went into the Hyphy shit waay too hard and now , he is typecast as a Hyphy producer. The Federation albums and E-40's last 2 albums have killed his career. The game needs he and E A Ski back . It's a shame those 2 talented musicians have fallen way off. We know Ski is creating some shit with locksmith , which is cool as fuck, but, Rick is doing beats for "Eligh and Grouch" nowadays ( who in the fuck are those guys? )! Rick i and Ski are dope as fuck , and hopefully both of them will play a big role in westcoast rap taking things over again !

Pfft Rick Rock has always been a hyphy producer, and the stuff he's done in the last 2 years has been some of his best, especially the last two 40 albums (one of which went gold). Stop hatin on guys keeping it small time, look at Quik, he went big and has been making shit for the last few years. Rick Rock needs to keep producing for the bay, at least they got the talent to match the beats.

"Eligh and Grouch" nowadays ( who in the fuck are those guys? )!
Two rappers that got more talent in them than your favorite hot-10 rappers.
Combine those rappers and see if they can make better music than Living Legends.

Yea I kinda felt the same way...but I guess when rick got that hit with the hyphy muzik he kinda stuck wit it...but now that hyphy sound is not floating no more...so I truly think rick needs to get back to the classic rick rock..the shit he did for jay and beanie segal, busta rhymes etc.....but I understood what he was doing...but I know exactly what the west is missing...we must all agree I think battlecat might be that dude to shake the coast...dude does not and won't dumb down his music....I felt j.r rotem out did rick rock on e40 last album with one track on there...real talk....

Not having clearance for "I Wear Me Stunna Glasses At Night" really hurt the Federation's sophomore album.
