how someone is such a complete asshole to have the balls to say "maybe goaltending should have been called" on the Courtney Lee shot
I just saw two idiots, back to back on different shows on ESPN say that.... I love it though
then another guy goes on for a minute talking about all the mistakes Orlando made, not hitting shots... then proceeds to say "the Lakers stole this one"
shit is mind boggling
-
cus they said gasol hit the rim vibrating it which may have altered how the ball reacted when it hit the rim. Thats what they are trying to say.
who cares its 2 - 0
-
if that isn't a reach of all reaches for someone to go to
people don't realize their creditibility is lost saying something like that
let alone, "maybe" it should have been called to decide a Finals game?
fuckin hilarious

can you honestly say if the tables were turned, and that was Kobe going up for that shot...no one on here would be calling for a goal tend had the rim been hit by Howard?

ye this is tha truth. to me tho it really didnt look enough to alter the shot but its one of those things ppl pick out after the games.

I wouldn't bet on somebody not coming in here and saying something, but they'd be fuckin losers to say the least
I would never even bring that shit up... anybody who would feel confident in going against the grain would be a true bitch at heart, true fan or not
my point is that you don't hear anybody from the Magic side mention it, but someone looking for excuses or tryin to hate on the Lakers mentions it... :-[ embarrassing

didnt catch what van gundy said after the game, did he say anything bout it?

this is how i see it. Was it goaltending? Definetely. Did it affect the shot? Definetely not. Call it how you want. The refs could have called goaltending, and by the rules...would have been right. HOWEVER, on a last second play, they RARELY call the game exactly by the rule book.
-
plain and simple-to the point lee should have made it
someway, somehow he should have banked it
-
i don't think a ref in the league has the balls to make a game deciding call on a questionable call.
can you imagine the chaos it would cause if he called goaltending & the series was tied 1-1.
-
anyone who argues for goal tending either didn't watch the entire game or is ignoring the fact that gasol's shot was gaoltending by dwight howard when he stuck his arm through the net.
it's like van gundy said, you can't expect to refs to get every call right, or even call the game how they see.....the only thing you can ask is that they stay consistent with their play calling.
so by that standard no one should be lobbying for a goal tend at the end of that game.

The NBA has kind of fucked itself really. I mean, any ref would have been completely right on making that call. However, theyve historically "let them play" on final shots. So if you start to call things by the book now, every single team that has ever lost on one of those non-calls at the buzzer will now bitch. Oddly enough, no team would ever come forward and claim they won from one of those non-calls lol

No doubt

My guess is that those guys are looking for anything to talk about and create controversy, that's all they do. By the rules it's a goaltend, but that shouldn't be called because it didn't affect the shot, especially at that juncture of the game. I think it's dumb to create that kind of skepticism, and if they wanted to take that angle, they should have gone for some better stuff. That's a reach.
-
It wasn't goaltending, lol. Loosers.

Unless your going off of the rulebook...
-
Officiating in the NBA is so poor it's a scandal, but that wasn't goaltending.
Actually the Howard one was. And he did another goaltending (dunk) late in the 4th quarter of Game-3..
-
but that wasn't goaltending.
what is wrong with you?
-
The rule says it's goaltending only if there was a real chance of the ball to finish in the basket (and there was), but the vibration of the rim touched by the player altered those chances (and that's not the case). Plain and simple.

LOL...does anyone doubt that Daygo would be saying exactly what Antonio is saying right now had the play been against the Spurs? and then the boy has the nerve to try and clown other people for being homers. :grumpy:

nice try cheerleader. Im callin the shit strait down the middle. You just keep trying your hardest to make others seem as fuckin retarded as you, good luck with that. Like I said, according to the rule book...its a goaltend. But I dont think it effected the outcome of the game. And have no problem with them not calling it. They never call shit like that in the final seconds unless it really changes the outcome of the game. But its funny how you have no complaints about the refs call....when youve been bitching like little girl all playoffs about the reffing lol
