Title: Bishop Lamont RimeMag Interview
Post by: Action! on June 10, 2009, 07:43:01 PM
http://rimemagazine.com/video.php?id=134

Talks about:

Says,

His rap name comes from his Auntie and a comment Snoop made.

Getting a record deal just happened.  That is, he recorded music after working construction to release stress.

Says Dr.Dre's perfectionism to hip-hop is what takes him so long.

The Reformation tries to cover every aspect of his life - race, struggle, politics, god, relationships, clubs, strip clubs, etc.

Grow Up was a reflection of himself.

He is listening to Ryan Leslie, Jamie Foxx, Dream, Nirvana's Nevermind, and Black Milk.

You will see The Game and him do a record.  He's at where he's supposed to be.  His work ethic speaks for himself.  His reputation (Bishop) proceeds himself.  He says to stop asking him about Game.

Says his 5 year plan is to be hanging with Oprah and Bill Gates.  He says he'll be retired in 5 years and will only release 3, maybe 4 albums.

There are playing "Hard Life"in the background of the video,i thought this was a fake but apparently it's not one.

Btw,i sincerely hope bishop is gonna to blow up,he deserves it more than some other rappers,he's like the fresh air needed by the mainstream world...

thanks for the summary, as i don't want to download quicktime player.

i don't think Bishop will ever do a song with Game: he's just being diplomatic.

anyway i'm waiting for a deeper interview with Bishop.
some things need to be addressed.

-is there any tension between him and Slim the mobster
- will he follow Stat Quo's path
- why it's been relatively quiet around him, since the release of Grow Up

Damm I can't believe I've been waiting on The Reformation since 2005. That's 4 years... Crazy. I remember they used to play "Do It" on the radio and I was hyped that his album would drop in 2006 or something, now it's 2009 and I don't think it will drop til 2010... damn

It's a shame he couldn't release his album already... "Grow Up" had potential in my eyes.

Co-sign. His streets albums are pure heat & are better than almost hip hop albums released the last 2- 3 years.

He definitely deserve to blow up even if i don't think he will

Bishop needs to get out there as he is the right type of rapper for now, a complete artist. Just a damn shame that he will probably never drop in the form that he has now...

Based on that video he seems pretty convinced that he's going to blow up commercially within 2 or so years.  He said in 5 years he'll be retired which seems like a bullshit comment to make but ...eh.... he's been making moves for a long time and has been quiet lately which probably has helped image.   From what I've heard, he's pretty well connected beyond Dr.Dre - whom his haters tend to focus on.  Dude's been making plenty of moves.

thanks for the analysis  :)

i just watched the video on youtube and i can understand why you got that impression.
it would be a prejudgement to state that he's being naïve: there's obviously a lot of things we don't know, so there must be a good reason why Bishop is so confident.

i can't picture a great future for Bishop with interscope though: 3 to 4 albums in 5 years of time is a joke.
Eminem was able to accomplish that, but that's a different story.
so that 5 year plan can't be related to interscope.

You're a joke, this thread is about Bishop not about Game.
Game achieved more in his career, but Bishop makes better songs. (Waiting for you to say Bishop ain't got a career, like you always do)
There are alot Game groupies and not so much Bishop groupies and since most hip hop fans are fools nowadays it's only logical that more people checking for Game.

Apart from that I hope they make a dope collabo.. since they're both talented.

I don't have any information about that instrumental being played in the background of the opening segment.

I did find the complete track on youtube -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAbKoYdy9yk.

One poster claims it's for Detox and will have Bishop and Game on the track but that sounds like shit to me.

Hah, ye for real..

I'm checking this forum daily, I just don't post alot. This LBIA hater appears in every Bishop thread, he's either jealous or he's just ignorant. Both of them is a option too.

Dre-Day, I know you're a Bishop fan too, I'm still thinking about making a Bishop mega thread soon.. I have a lot rare tracks.

always funny to see the Bishop groupies call anyone a hater for telling the truth about their idol

even Dre thinks Bishop is wack, that's why he'll never see the light of day

and like I said, besides a few groupies, NO ONE checking for Reformation, not even his own moms

Dre signed Bishop, and has obviously spent a lot of time in the studio with him

and Dre hasn't had the confidence to release him which tells you everything you need to know, Bishop had to leak the Grow Up track himself which made Dre furious

Long Beach is a very frustrated poster, he's been doing this for a few years ;)
he had a temporary ban at least 2 times in the past, so he's not a stranger to the staff.
he has no control over his emotions ;)

so don't take his comments too serious: he's just one of dudes that tries to look like a tough guy, but turns out to be a very sensitive person  ;)
he always tries to brush it off with a few jokes(watch how he'll respond to this message!), but we know better ;D

he's nothing more than a gimmick, that desperately asks to be treated as such :)
with that knowledge, all you can do is laugh at him

by the way, Cios, there's nothing wrong with reading more, than posting ;)
the bishop mega thread is definitely a good idea, but don't stress it :)
you don't have to do it all in one take: just take one step at a time, by posting a limited amount of tracks first.
if you want to keep out a lot of leechers, then you shouldn't post it in the main section, but in the section for hookups ;)
