Like the last guy said, Crooked I is way better lyrically than most of the West Coast today. His verses on "I Ain't Shit Without My Homeboyz" and "Step Up" on Kurupt's Streetz Iz A Mutha were total quality. Check them out:

There is no doubt, that lyrically Crooked I's album is going to be pure class, my only concern is the guest apperances which seem to be being mentioned such as Sisqo, Juvenile, Ja Rule and Ashanti, none of which exactly excite me. But I'm sure he's still gonna come with a tight album, but I ain't really expecting a classic, save that title for his second or third album where he will be totally on top of his form.

How can you make such a judgement. I first heard of crooked I in 97. That is 5 years, close to 6, that he has been established as a rapper, with no album. I mean he has some guest spots and a few solo songs and most are extremely dope, but cmon. If in a time span of 6 years snoop didn't drop one album he would have plenty of time to drop some excellent verses, freestyles, and the occaisonal solo song. Many rappers would be able to do this. I mean if you don't drop too many songs than that is less of a chance that they are bad. And since he only drops a few verses and songs a year he easily could choose the very best ones that he has done.

that's true, but the sad thing is, most rappers do that. I was ashamed when I noticed that the Notorious BIG did that on a freestyle I downloaded that was on the radio. I had so much respect for him as an Emcee before then. .. I've heard Eminem do it before, too, it's kind of depressing. I gotta say, though, I've never heard Snoop do it, he's always original when he freestyles, but anymore it's rare rare rare to hear a snoop freestyle.

i listened closely to all of them tracks...Rap Moguls was tight but it showed no lyrical skill touching Crooked....Rollin is in the same boat...Fashion Show was a tight song....but again theres nothing in there that crooked i wouldnt be able to destroy....Days Of Our Lives...that beat is sick...funny tho...my homies got that exact beat on their new cd....ima have to tell them about that...but this track falls in the same category as the rest....Sit Back And Chill was pretty lyrical but i still know crooked would tear them up...Yard Style was hardly a close to Crooked Is Murderin MCS
