cuz the gang culture gets in the way of all of it. there's plenty of mexicans that can spit, believe me. they aint all on that gangster shit either. i know/seen/heard quite a few people of my race gettin down to some shit. & like Fatdodger said, the Sureno & norteno conflict would get in the way wit all of it.
but the whole Latino, non-reggaeton-making, music scene will be big soon, trust. alot of Latin artists are getting discovered by labels & other people & they're recognizing that we aint all like how everyone portrays us to be.
it aint that we cant make an anthem like that, its cuz we aint got that push right now & all that gang culture bullshit gets in the way of it.

To be really real with it, fuck that Norteno/ Sureno shit. Im cool with Mexicans, and some of my closest homies growin up was Mexican. But Mexican rap dont blow up for one reason....cus the shit is wack. Strait up. Lyrically, its weaker then the South and just like a lotta Westcoast artist, they stick to the gangsta shit. Cool, I aint got no problem with THAT. But all that "ese" shit just aint somethin that most muhafuckas can relate to. Unless you an ese, you aint fuckin with it. A majority of rap music consumers are white kids in the suburbs, and theres a reason they have a term like "Wigger" and not "Weaner". Cus a lot of them kids wanna be Black kids from the hood, not eses from the Barrio. Ive heard some Mexican rappers who aint half bad, but they fall back into that same stereotype.

nigga please...nors and surs live like 500 miles from each other.. surs in LA arent even aware for the most part of northsiders unless they have been to prison. they are busy bangin on each other and blac gangs. however bloods and crips are doin this shit every day. in fact they dont even just bang on each other. anyone who lives in LA knows it hasn't been a blue v red thing for overa long time. its a set v set thang. nortenos however are still on that red v blue shit. cuz they bangin on LA from miles away they dont even know whats goin on with us. they up there talkin shit about southsiders but never actually mix it up with any surs unless they in prison.. the reason mexican rap doesnt sell isn't simply cuz its garbage(which imo it is..i cant stand the sound of a someone with a mexican accent rapping..ts like nails on chalk board to me) but they have no support..there's all kinds of garbage on radio right now..kids listen to whatever the media tells them they should for the most part. if someone was willing to put mass amounts od $$$ behind mexican rap to get it on the radio and make it a cultural thang tthat this si the new shit it would blow up to..but no one is pushing to make this shit mainstream...

Frost is tight as fuck.. Yeah hes seasoned but the thing with him is that he developed his style... Im not a big a fan of "Chicano" rap and it really annoys the fuck outta me when they are like oh me n my heyna or yo y mi ruka... they play up to the stereotypes and its like ur regressing your culture and making everybody continue to think that mexicans, unless its regaetone or mariachis, will never improve in music.
There are a few Mexican rappers who can improve their standing with a radio hit here n there (IE. Lil Rob) but Rob actually talks about common things that not just mexicans but all races do.. Who doesnt enjoy a summer night of drinking and partying? But then with the played out beats and the whole Fuck the haters thing, its like yeah everybody has haters but its so played out. Success is the best way to get at the "haters" so stop reminding them u dont like them and step your own game up. Show that you have a place in music. Instead of just being a MEXICAN rapper or a MEXICAN lyricist, be a rapper, or a lyricist. Nobody Gives a Damn that Big Pun Was a Puerto RIcan or Cuban lyricist... They cared that he was a LYRICIST
