haha to some it was dope but to others it was wack
IMO the people that complained about blackout said it wasnt westcoast rather something "westcoast in todays style"
but nah dj muggs would be dope wit kurupt and get dj lethal on them boards too

I made a thread about why I didn't like it maybe a week back. I'll try and find it again. But my reasons had nothing to do with it "being westcoast"

nah i feel what you sayin i was lookin for some unda the influence typa quik and some space boogie typa kurupt
but its crazy cuz im not the biggest fans of kurupt/quik but yeah i wasnt feelin their new album for example the itunes bonus track sounds too much like the can you werk wit dat quik was tryna do
but if they went in and created some str8 westcoast shit, it be dope
and the "being westcoast" wasnt to you or jus you, thats what i read alot that many were sayin on here and elsewhere (net, streets etc...)
throw that link up tho when you get a chance

But yeah I understand what you're saying. There's a lot of people hating just because it's a different from the 90's sound they were expecting. I listened to that album for what it is in 2009 and felt that some of that shit was unlistenable

skimmin thru your review i pretty much agree, thats what i get from their album the what were you thinkin?
so i guess i look at it like this
on the 1 side
they tried to flip it and bring a new side and new sound to the west and their fans (somehow) but it went wrong for their original fans. so the fans-maybe the newer audience like it and listen to it

on the flipside
they actually released a album, two of the greats actually released a album together but its not what many were thinkin when in fact they could have made a monster album together
and then the fans that dont like it have to pull out the space boogie or one of quiks older albums

crazy thing is quik is puttin in mad work, time, and money for this project
