well if we check the tracks that we know is gonna be feat (according to the (rumored??) trackliste)
02. Tha Bo$$ Would Like To See You
04. From Da Chuuuch to Da Palace
05. I Believe in You
07. Ballin
09. Papered Up
11. Wasn't Your Fault
12. Boss Playa
16. From Long Beach 2 Brik City
17. Suited N Booted
21. Pimp Slapped
i mean... i would put a 4.7 avreage on those tracks (neptunes dragin down the score)
+ we havent heard the primo tracks, pooh, soopafly, lady of rage, just blaze, charlie wilson.. ...
this shit can definatly be a classic
-
btw.. i really hopes (hoped) that "pimp on" feat tha eastsidaz will be featured in the album.. that shit is just straight heat.. i love the way tray dee starts with his verse... it seems like he is off beat, een though he's not.. lol
-
For me it's a 3.5 and not more. There are a few good tracks and bad tracks which we have already heard, although we aren't able to say, what cuts will make the final version. There is nothing special for me, which would make it a 5 album.
-
5/5 classic? I think we're exagerating here just a little...
-
LMAO...no way it will be classic...im just hoping it will be better than the last meal...though thats not asking much...and those mentioned songs for me are only average bout 3/5 maybe 3.5 at best
-
most people here agrees that theese tracks are bangers::
02. Tha Bo$$ Would Like To See You
07. Ballin
09. Papered Up
17. Suited N Booted
16. From Long Beach 2 Brik City
pesronnally i think that theese tracks are bangers:
05. I Believe in You
12. Boss Playa
21. Pimp Slapped
this onme is pretty nice, not a 5/5 though
11. Wasn't Your Fault
this could be discarded:
04. From Da Chuuuch to Da Palace
maby im to hyped.. i dont know... only time will tell
-
02. Tha Bo$$ Would Like To See You
who got the song
-
theres no way it'S gonna be classic, with the peoples mind over here, the album scores is already set, they didn'T even listen to them track, yeah we heard them for the most, but who tells you that it's gonna be the same, he may edited most of them cause he's not stupid he already heard that his album as been leaked and he will drop the same album for most of them track, think b4 you talk

is boss playa the same as pimp game wit don magic juan

and we gotta add 20 crips and vicious flow to the list outa songs that should be on there those are both 5 outa 5.................to me this could be a 4.5 if the new songs are bangers and he keeps the right songs from the promo

Wow...
Just cause DJ Quik and the Penthouse playerz clique came up with the name first (from james brown in 1992) dosen't mean it's boring...
You need to be less bitter and more open minded...
JAE is right, that album is a classic...
Check your self

The Penthouse album is dope, near classic i would say...........
As for new Snoops album, no way it will be 5/5 or a classic? Some people just don't know what it takes for a classic........i mean, you could have an album full of pretty good songs (probably like Snoops album) but it doesn't mean it will be close to classic. Look at Last Meal.......not even close to classic IMO, although it was a really dope album. There is a huge difference between 4/5 or 4.5 and 5/5....
-
i think snoops new album probably is gonna be better than both stillmatic and the blueprint witch both are almot considered as classics
-
WHo's buying it tho....since yall already heard the whole fucken lp...and have had it for over 6 months now..
Where's the fucken surprise at!!!
It's already Dead at birth....Ripper's alredy killed it.
A guaranteed loss of sales for sure.
Then peep's wonder why the Fuck The west don't come up anymore....lol
Because peep's can't wait to get their fucken greasy hand's on it, The West get's majorly bootlegged and bumped before the actual lp even comes close to a Real drop date.
I would love for them to make cd's un-Ripp-able to see what most of the internet fuck's do....
guess they might actualy have to buy a cd... :'(
ImO
Hatesrats 2oo2
It may not be classic....or new to yall, but it will be bought by me regadless.....of anyone's opinion's.
I got my own mind.
-
The King can only take so much. Lets lock this up folks..the album HASNT dropped so why oh why are yall rating it.?
-
Where's the fucken surprise at!!!
I like getting a new album without hearing anything on it (or very little).
I haven't downloaded any advances, and stayed away from the threads concerning this album. Only heard "From The Chuuurch To The Palace" and "Paper'd Up". Those are the only songs I've even heard of so far.
-
Well if the source gives scarface 5 mics (which is ridiculous) then snoop can have 15 mics.
But for real, the tracks that i heard from the advance releases were tight but not incredible. Only 2 tracks that i really bumped were "time goes on" and "you like doing it to". IMO "time goes on" would be a ten times better single then "from the chuch to the palace". But it's pretty obvious that snoop wants to fill his pockets by going mainstream with a neptunes produced track. To bad for snoop that the beat ain't worth shit. But you never know, maybe the britney spears kids will like the song and will make it sell anyways.

Word Up...I'm the same way.
Only lp I've downloaded recently was the KNoc advance, but that was only after they announced it was never gonna see the light of day.. :'(
Prop's to Jome.....for hookin me up wit those unreleased track's and freestyles Knoc did.
And Prop's to C2....for still feeling cd's when they drop.

he didnt answer my question.. he were being sarcastic... i didnt find it funny
-
I was being sarcastic? I was being completly serious. Check the title. You said "Paid The Cost Ptential 5/5 classic" How was I suppost to know you ment snoop ;D
PS. Check "Undaground Boss" and see the James Brown sample. Looks like Snoopy is late with his unoriginal title.
PPS. Good one with the Phuk U 2 Englewood :D

STOP with the classic shit. you cant say a album is a classic after 1 or 2 listen's. after about 4 years if you can pop that album in and still feel 95% of the album than it's a classic in your mind. everybody got different taste. who the fuck are we to this is dope this is wack. If you feel its a classic than damnit its a classic to you. I was listening to the last meal the other day, I did not feel damn near anything on there. That don't mean that the album is wack for everybody. I think doggfather was near classic(too many songs about nothing) but I know a lot of people that like the album.
I think paid the cost will be a good album. I like "boss playa" and the Intro, and the one wit redman. All you really need for a bangin ass album is 5 heaters, and some good songs around it. Paid the cost will have some sorry songs. I hate suited and booted i dont see what y'll like in this song, the beat is terrible, and the hook is trash, but one song aint gon fuck up the album.
btw what song is "I believe in you" is it on the advances if so what #. If not where did ya'll hear it.

its the song wit LaToiya Williams
-
damn chillah I guess I dont have that one. what is the song about, is the beat cool, or something he should leave off?

If the Traclist iz real the song might be the next single (Snoop said thhat LaToiya Wiliiams will be in songs that will be single)
the beat iz tight its like a love song produced by Hi tek it reminds me alot of the song "round & round (remix) " by Jonell & Method Man

hey chillah do u mind hookin me up wit that song dogg cuz i dont' think i've heard it yet either?

Well if the source gives scarface 5 mics (which is ridiculous) then snoop can have 15 mics.
I was feeling 'Face as a 5 mic artist. I think The Fix was tight, not as good as Stillmatic, but better than Blueprint. See Jigga fucked up the 5 mic award, 'cause now anything better than Blueprint has to be 5 mics, they lowered the standard. As for Snoop, I don't care about mics, I always get Snoop albums, own everyone, and don't plain on skipping any.
-
ill tell yall one thing.... yall got high hopes.... from the songs we have heard on the bootleg, they arent very impressive to me.
In my opinion... Snoop cannot have a classic album again, till he regains that vicious ferocious flow he had as a youngsta. Thats the bottom line!!!
-
I hope a beat from Premier like "Doobie Ashtray" or that song with kool g rap and devin....snoop comes tight on that song.
I'd like to listen snoop on beats like the 2 above....this album will be 2% west coast and 98% east/south/world music. He needs to work with cats like Sir Jinx,dj muggs,dj quik (!!!),dr dre ( ;D),ant banks...
I hope "I believe in you" will not be a single, and i hope will not be on the album cuz its a garbage song to me.....cool for the contents but i dont wanna see a song like this one on a snoop dogg album.

Don't be comparin' shit with Jay-Z's or any other cats albums who got five mics! What fuckin' allpowerful hip-hop deity The Source is 'sposed to be, huh? Classic albums are like what they say 'bout wine: it only gets better as the years go by. (Actually, as the years go by, wine turns into vinegar, but that makes it less glamorous.) (I never get enough ranting 'bout what's classic and what's not. Sorry.) Take Doggystyle for example. That shit is still str8 heat today, every track is still a banger: it's timeless, it's classic. 2001 is still str8 heat today, it still bangs: so far it has been timeless, thus classic, but will it be that after another, say, 7 years? We'll see in 7 years. (I'll spare you from the suspense and look into the future: Yes, it's still a classic. ;D) Now, I've grown to like the Blueprint and Jay-Z. When The Blueprint first came out, I hated the guy. Now he's grown onto me. (But ain't nobody gonna fuck with my love for Dre, Snoop & them and the west. I don't think no muthafucka's music can ever speak to me like that westcoast shit does.) Alright, so the Blueprint got 5 mics and I like it today, but still it ain't classic to me, it'll never be. That shit ain't timeless. I'm bored with a few tracks now.
So, wait 'till Snoop's album comes out, give it a few listens, give it your ratings, throw it if you hate it, keep bumpin' it if you love it, and after a few years, we'll be able to say whether Snoop made another classic. So sit down, shut up and let the music do the talkin'.

LoL, can you please use the "quote"-option, so that we won't have to read the same post twice?
I be gettin some deja-vu here ;D

even if the album was flawless, that doesnt make it a classic... a classic gives you that feeling when you hear it... like Doggystyle or Resurrection... Swollen Members "Bad Dreams" is flawless, but not a classic.
