Lupe started off on that gangsta shit.  Most people only know him for his more "socially conscience" material and that's due to his presentation of that on his major label albums.

Lupe more street then a lot of the cats who claim that gangsta shit.  He has mad unreleased material that probably touches the subject but he just never released it. 

His boy didn't get locked up for no reason and like hell Lupe didn't know he was drug funded.
