K-Boy Shakes Things Up By Releasing "California Earthquake" - By : Mil - June 24, 2009
South Central Los Angeles recording sensation K-Boy “The Prince” – an affiliate of Glasses Malone’s Blu Division and Mack 10’s Hoo Bangin’ labels – has just released a brand new mixtape with DJ Skee, DJ Ill Will and Dow Jones called the “California Earthquake.”
Fresh off the success of his previous solo releases (Jackin 4 Beatz, The Green Tape) and a long list of memorable guest appearances alongside notable rappers such as Glasses Malone, Roccett, Jay Rock and more, K-Boy’s latest project continues to show why many regard him as one of the West’s top new artists. K-Boy has been featured in Ozone Magazine and is a regular on many major hip-hop websites.
“California Earthquake” is a must-listen CD that teams him up with two of the most well-known DJ’s in rap – Skee and Dow Jones and hosted by DJ Ill Will – and includes star-studded features from Nipsey Hussle, Jay Rock, Glasses Malone, Tyga and many more. Production is also A-list with multiple songs from Tha Bizness as well as 1500 or Nothin and others.
With 26 new tracks of dope material, a strong mic presence and a list of connections that have lead to cameos in major videos like Tyga’s “Cali Love,” G.Malone’s “Haterz,” “Sun Come Up” and “60 Million Dollar Flow” from the Next Day Air soundtrack, plus Nipsey Hussle’s “Hussle in the House” and Jay Rock’s “All My Life” on MTV Jamz and BET, K-Boy is making sure everyone gets to know his face and name.

There are tags, they aren't that bad though. The same amount as any other dow jone/skee/ill will mixtape, no more, no less. I'm liking this mixtape 8)

I don't know which ones you have or haven't heard. I think about 5-6 of the songs have already been featured on Dubcnn before. Other than that the rest were new to me.

Ok, if I have to hear Dow Jones again I am going to have to kick someones ass. I was enjoying U Don't know me before that shit popped in. Besides that song, Tonight was cool. I'll cut it up & just play it on my pc. I hate to be knockin shit in my ride & fuccin tags blast out louder than the song I am listening too.

Your last name doesn't have to be Einstein to know that before you download when you see the names Dow Jones, Skee and Ill Will on there.

Yeah, What is The Point Of Having 3 "DJ's" On There?
What Does Skee & Jones Do On It?
The Only Good DJ On Mixtapes Is Crazy Toones

Yeah, What is The Point Of Having 3 DJ's/People On There?
What Does Skee & Jones Do On It?
And what's the point of Ill Will hosting?

u guys are so tiring with the dj complaints... its part of the mixtape game geniuses!!
either just wait til albums come out or deal with the fact that rappers go thru mixtape dj's either to build relationships or to get their projects in the places that they know the dj's already have connections that they might not have... face the facts mixtape djs use tags and drops to protect their exclusive from vulture dj's who download songs and claim they are THEIR exclusives
plus it aint easy to get a mixtape co-signed by 3 big dj's like dow, skee & ill will - so thats probably why k boy did it...
-
3 djs is over kill, from the sound of this one it only needed 1, believe me.
Sometimes when you hear that this dj or that dj will be on it you think it will add to it, but this didn't do shit but ruin it.
The mixgame sucks ass, I miss the OG djs, props to DJ Krayzee Toones for keeping it legit.
-
Dope mixtape! Bank Roll is the shit 8) the tags sucks as always >:(

And at the same time it's what everybody thinks is the worst part of the mixtape game, Einstein.

You still don't get that what B.o.B did with his latest mixtape "B.o.B vs Bobby Ray" is the way to do it. There's a no DJ version for the internet and a yes DJ version for outside of the internet. See, mixtape DJ's don't have any rights to exclusive songs. Even if any other DJ tags up a song, isn't that what you -as a hardcore music rapist- would want him to do?
plus it aint easy to get a mixtape co-signed by 3 big dj's like dow, skee & ill will - so thats probably why k boy did it...
K-Boy does not respect his own music. He should be ashamed of himself; of his own attitude.
-
so u are saying that k boy has the same buzz aS B.O.B.?? u sound ignorant with that statement... Drake & B.O.B & Wiz Khalifa etc can release non dj mixtapes cuz their buzz is major online across the board... lets be honest here K-Boy has a nice local buzz but hes not gonna get the website support without these DJ's on it at this point in his career
-
feeling this

so u are saying that k boy has the same buzz aS B.O.B.??
Clearly.
