Title: HYPOTHETICALLY speaking, if Phil Jackson only coached the home games
Post by: .:DaYg0sTyLz:. on June 25, 2009, 11:07:49 AM
next year, and the Lakers managed to win another title.  Basically Rambis would be as much of the headcoach as Phil. Would that say something about Phil riding the coat tails of his superstars?  Or is Rambis just as good of a coach as Phil?

It only says something about the total awesomeness of KOBE BRYANT. Nothing more, nothing less.

Did u just say "total awesomeness"? lol

Ok...but the MORE awesome Kobe is, the less Phil needs to do as a coach right? And either way, if the team could put up a great record and win a title with Phil coaching half of the games...then how important is Phil really?

His sympathizers could also argue that he is so fucking good, he can do what most coaches can't do by attending half of the games... dickriding is always possible if you are committed enough.

Jordan, Pippen, Shaq, and Kobe would never be what they were without Phils guidance.

If I may break up this hate-fest, I'd like to make a couple points.

-Coaching half a season, doesn't mean you are doing half the job of a coach. There's still practice, player assessment, adjustments, etc.
-Coaches are remembered for what they do in the playoffs. Obviously Phil is not only going to coach home playoff games.
-I don't think the regular season win total would be that different. Maybe around 10 games. The team is so talented, they can win regardless.
-It's not going to happen, so we'll never know.

You're only a hater (to me at least) if you hate all the time. Everybody's got to release some hate once in a while. Or else where would the passion be?

Hmm. I see. Well, this thread wasnt set up with the attention of hate. It was an honest question.  ;)
