Former Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam artist Tru Life turned himself in to authorities last night (June 23) to face a charge of 1st degree murder, according to reports. The charge is possibly tied to a brutal stabbing incident last week that left one man seriously injured, and an 18-year old teen dead. As reported by AllHipHop.com, police were initially investigating Tru Life’s brother for a retaliation attack in the non-fatal shooting of Michael Slater. The individual, whom police suspect is a drug dealer, was shot in the stomach outside of club Pacha. Several hours after the crime, police claim five gang members ambushed 30 year old Jason Black and the unnamed teen at a Manhattan apartment complex. Both men were stabbed repeatedly in the chest and face. Black survived the assault, while the unidentified teen succumbed to his wounds. At the time, police theorized that the back and forth violence was the result of a feud between Jason Black and Tru Life’s brother. A 1st degree murder charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison under New York law. AllHipHop.com will continue to update this breaking story as more information emerges.

I don't hate Tru Life or anything like that, some of his music was cool, but when exactly did he have a "career" other than Beef?
it's not like he was gonna ever drop an album on Roc La Familia lol

Why does it matter how old they are? In the hood a little kid will split you. Sometimes there is more important things than money but I doubt he has that much anyways

I highly doubt it, but he got a nice chunk of change for signing with Jay. He had some good money period, but even if YOU personally dont like him, doesnt mean other cats wouldnt have had, who knows if he was gonna have a career or not, he had money though. Just retarded seeing this kinda shit from people who got something going for them!!!

Exactly ABK. And it's not just a case of being hated on, it's obvious Tru Life coulda shyed away from this shit like many other rappers do.. Dang shame.. I really thought Tru was doing something positive...

I find it funny that people always argue about rappers saying oh he sucks he's not real blah blah. But then when you find out an artist really is he what he says he is then its oh this guys a loser what an asshole etc.Tru life was what he talked about unlike most rappers.I'm not saying its a good thing but people on here crack Me up.Its ok to listen to people talk about killing people but when someone does it their all of a sudden scum.
-
I got the New, New York mixtape he done a while back and I thought it was tight, but that's all I really know of him. Wasn't nuthin' great, but it had some hard joints.
-
I just remember when he exposed mobb deep
-
