I just noticed i haven' tbought one west album, and i feel kinda bad. Well, i guess i bought Blackilicious, but they aren't "westcoast", they just from the west. I ordered the King Tee album too, haven't got it yet though. I guess i haven't been checking the underground much, and to me that Xzibit album was honestly about half what he is capable of (i downloaded it, gave it two weeks of solid listening, then deleted it).....I have only heard one WC track, and it was blazing. Might get his album. Shade, i don't like his rapping at all, although John Doe and Wake Up are two of the best westcoast songs of the year. If i see his album, i will likely buy it. Quik, i thought he came with a huge letdown, i hope he doesn't go out like that as i think Under the Influence may be his worst album ever. I mean, he has had dope tracks this year like his joint wioth Talib Put it in the Air, and Addictive of course, i wish Quik woulda kept those for himself. Really though, Xzibit is what killed it for me. I guess i shouldn't let Xzibits mistakes turn me off the westcoast, but i just can't believe his album is like it is. I first heard Xzibit on the underrated but clasic King Tee song Freestyle Ghetto, and then when i heard Paparazzi i became a huge fan. And i wasn't mad when Restless dropped even though he swithced up the style, cuz i thought it was an album full of singles, and it was pretty easy to listen to all the way through.
Only artists i am looking forward to is Ras, Snoop, REN, KAM, Deltron, Nate, maybe a Tray Dees solo (not complitation), and of course Detox. I am honestly pretty scared to hear the new Pac as i am pretty sure the Row/INC connection is gonna show up on at least a few tracks. Oh YA, i am definitely buying DOC, as i consider that westcoast regardless of where he is from.....and that promo that dropped before was incredible in my opinion.
Any suggestion on stuff i missed? To me this has been a horrible year for hiphop all over. I know it is gonna get better though in these last few months..........

i feel what you're saying tee... last westcoast styled album i copped was Warren... since then there's been nothing that appealed to me at all... overall its been a slow year, especially compared to a dope 2001. but then the last 3 months of 2001 were busy.. so hopefully november/december will pick up a lot.... other than Snoop i dont know what i expect to cop from the west, besides that King Tee.

The new J5 album is definitly worth checking out, not as good as Quality Control but still dope. Also the PUTS album was a very solid album lived up to the quality of their first two. Buc Fifty's debut is also another album I'd recommed.
