The Knicks can take 12 dubcc members and still make a ridiculous profit. LOL.

the Knicks would be at the bottom of everything if they didn't have such expensive courtside seats that save them lol.

Cities like New York and LA will always do well in this category because they have so many fans who are there more for the media event, rather then supporting the team.  They are either celebrities, wannabe celebrities, or people who are looking for celebrities lol.  The team is secondary. Franchises like Portland, etc are pretty impressive though.

Celebrities/celebrity wannabes/celebrity hunters, make up a small fraction of people in attendance. It's just the bigger population will always make demand higher then average. Having such historic franchises also helps.

The celebrities themselves make up a small percentage of the ticket purchases. But they also drive up ticket prices. My point was more that going to a Laker/Knick game is sometimes more of a social thing then actually about people being legit fans. Those teams have legit fans too no doubt.  But its almost a status thing for a lot of people/ business people, etc.

that's only around courtside..new york and LA still get their share of dedicated fans who drive the prices up.
