but then again, not really. LOL
11-2 :bandit:

Hopefully this is one step closer to Omar Minaya and Jerry Manuel losing their jobs. *waits for cham to say I am just saying this stuff so I can act surprised in October.
-
LOL, you said that shit pre-season with a full, healthy squad.
meanwhile preseason, the Mets were a top contender for the NL, with the possible repeating Phils & beastly Dodgers.
now almost halfway in, with half of your starters on the DL, those comments are acceptable; you guys appear to be FUCKED. :-X
-
at least this year we wont say they choked, they just sucked the whole time

And like I have said a million fucking times, don't let the media hype fool you. The squad wasn't that fucking good to begin with

It's the only way to cope. On top of the fact we have to deal with yankee fans like Cham that know nothing about baseball.

Jeff Francoeur is a Met and I’m in Hell
Posted by Paul Moro on Friday July 10th 2009, 6:34 pm - filed in News reel
Metsblog.com is reporting that the Mets and Braves are swapping outfielders. Jeff Francoeur is Queens-bound while Ryan Church is heading down to Dixie.
Now, there aren’t too many times when I’ve lost my head while writing a post. But let’s add this one to that short list.
HOW IN HOLY HELL IS THIS GOING TO MAKE THE TEAM BETTER??????????????
HOW IS JEFF FRANCOEUR BETTER THAN RYAN CHURCH? IN WHAT WAY? FRENCHY’S OBP? IT’S AT .282. TWO-FREAKING-EIGHTY-FREAKING-TWO. HE’S OPS-ING .634. AS A CORNER OUTFIELDER. DEFENSE? CHURCH IS BETTER. POWER? CHURCH HAS A HIGHER SLUGGING. SIMPLY PUT, JEFF FRANCOEUR IS ONE OF THE WORST PLAYERS IN BASEBALL.
IN WHAT UNIVERSE IS JEFF FRANCOEUR BETTER THAN RYAN CHURCH? AND WHY WOULD THE METS MAKE THIS TRADE??? WHY??????????
…
Dear God, I am not a man of faith. But I pray that this is a precursor to another trade. Because quite frankly, there’s no other possible reason other than pure idiocy as to why any GM would make this deal. IT MAKES ZERO SENSE. NONE.

Our GM Omar Minaya said he made this trade b/c frenchy plays a lot of games, no really that was the reason he gave dead ass serious.

Frency never had a great season, he had two respectable seasons. And what happened to him was he never grew as a player so it made it that much easier for the league to figure him out.

right, '06 & '07 were solid years; strong in the outfield; he was good for a team in those years, the kind of players you need to win.
he came into this season after working on his stance & swing all off-season, i thought he would have a breakout year; but he has been anything but impressive. :-\

A few reasons for that
1) We have to share a city with the Yanks and deal with brain dead Yankee fans that know nothing about Baseball
2) Professional Baseball in NY is like high school football in Texas, it more like a religion.
3) Our F.O. is and always has been a joke
4) Play in the biggest city in the world and the franchise has futility down to a T
5) What should of been a dynasty in the 80's was snorted away
6) Tom Seaver for 4 bums
7) Nolan Ryan for Jim Fregosi
8 ) Lenny Dykstra for Juan Samual
9) Scott Kazmir for Victor fucking Zambrano... the closest I ever came to dropping the Mets all together. Back in the winter of that Year we could of had Soriano for Kaz straight up. I think Soriano is one of the most overrated players in all baseball but Victor Fucking Zambrano
10) Omar Minaya
11) Ownership is a joke
12) A new ballpark that priced out all working class fans, the same fans they market to. They do this even though the team sucks and hasn't one a championship in 20 + years.
13) Tease after tease after fucking tease
I could continue to go on but you get the jist
Being a Met fan is like being in an abusive relationship. You keep thinking they will change but they never do.

Braves fans say his defensive has always been overrated, though he still has a cannon. And look at his OPS in those years, it was horrible. He got by on natural ability now the league has got him figured out. Unless he magically decides to grow as a player and learn to take pitches he'll continue to suck. I wouldn't be surprised if he was out of the bigs within two years.

Mets need to trade Reyes for a pitcher once he gets healthy again
NL is all about pitching anyways
You don't trade Jose Reyes for anyone unless they are a certified ace. You don't trade the best table setter in baseball like he's some bum. Reyes is the most important player on the roster, more so than Wright and Santana. And if you have watched any Met games you will know even though pitching hasn't been good for the Mets, it's the offense that has crippled them. And unless the Mets plan on changing the OF dimensions they will have to model there team after those 80's Cards team. And Reyes is the perfect guy for that. Don't believe the media hype about Reyes having a bad attitude. He is just an dumb ass that hangs around a negative element in the clubhouse (Delgado). The Mets should not move Reyes unless they are getting back a legit number 1.
-
Mets need to trade Reyes.

Again you show you know nothing about baseball. You're a good kid Cham you just need some guidance.
-
how would the mets benefit from trading their most popular player? sure, they would get good stock in return...but come on.
-
how would the mets benefit from trading their most popular player? sure, they would get good stock in return...but come on.
Because a lot of people that don't watch the Mets believe the the negative media hype about him having an attitude problem. All he needs is a Vet to keep his mind on the game like Cliff Floyd and Jose Valentin did in 2006. In 07 & 08 he got close to Delgado who is a malcontent.

i assuming you don't understand Reyes injury.
he will never fully recover, even if he comes back; he'll be at 90%, with his legs.
no doubt he will hurt himself again within half a year of playing if he pushes himself too hard.
so might as well trade him while he is still at top value, before other teams see that he is going to come back injury prone.
not saying just dump him for anybody, but when he comes back i would say deal him for somebody good, which you would get for him.
i never cared for his act to begin with, but it would be a smart move for the Mets.

^ What happened to Reyes, all I know is that he's injured...

LMFAO when did you become a doctor ? You're the first person to even mention he won't be the same player lmfao. And that is what everyone said about him back in 2003-04 when he had the calf problems b/c the joke of an organization misdiagnosed his injury and tried to change his running style. And 90% Reyes is still one of the most explosive players in baseball. And you never cared his act, whats that ? Being one of the most explosive and exciting players in baseball. Ichiro has nothing to do with this. Typical Yankee fan fashion, they try and talk about other teams like they know and when someone educates them it's change the subject. And I would take Reyes over Ichiro, no knock on him at all though.
-
Typical Teflon response...getting butt hurt when someone questions him.
since Reyes became a full time lead-off hitter in 2004:
reyes per 162 games: .285/.334/.435, 196 hits, 34 doubles, 15 triples, 13 HR, 66 RBI, 113 runs, 65 SB, 16 CS, 83 K, 101 OPS+
ichiro per 162 games: .335/.380/.430, 232 hits, 23 doubles, 8 triples, 9 HR, 57 RBI, 106 runs, 39 SB, 7 CS, 62 K, 117 OPS+
as you can tell, Ichiro is going to get onbase ALOT more often, his slugging % is just 5 points below and his OPS+ dwarfs REyes.
Reyes may get more extra base hits (62 to 40) but Ichiro is still going to get 40 more hits a year!
Ichiro plays his position better defensively also....granted Reyes does play the more important spot, he doesn't play it as well.
-
LOL, Ichiro is hands down the better player.
EDIT: the only thing Reyes has on Ich is that Jose is a better SS lol.

he's a bitch, even Keith Hernandez shits on him lmao.
but yeah, that injury is going to fuck him over, season after season.
he will spend more of his career on the DL than on the field lol (that's a joke before you come back saying "you know nothing"). ;)
-
LOL, Ichiro is hands down the better player.
EDIT: the only thing Reyes has on Ich is that Jose is a better SS lol.
Yeah I'd say Ichiro is definitely better, they're different players though. Even though Ichiro could hit for power he chooses to hit purely contact and can get on base virtually at will. Reyes can hit for average but tends to drive the ball more rather than going for the little hits. Ichiro>>Reyes IMO, both amazing talents though.

they were breaking down Ichiro's hitting & if he stayed balanced in the box, he could put up 35-40 HRs a season, that's insane.
-
^ Yeah I went to the HR Derby when it was in Seattle back on 01, I remember Ichiro taking BP and literally jacking like 15-20 in a row over the fence, the guy's just an all around animal haha.

the only thing Reyes has better than Ichiro is he can hit more extra base hits....which i dont care about as much from my LEADOFF hitter.
i'd rather have a guy hit .330 than .290 if he's leading off.

You got off the subject hack, I'm not hurt. I put the nail in the coffin of your argument that the Mets should trade Reyes for pitching. You come back w/ Ichiro is better. Now defend your initial argument.

In the beginning of his career he had calf problems due to the Mets crappy med staff. And since than he has almost 300 stolen bases and 80 triples. And just so you know this injury has nothing to do with his calf. Dr. Cham please tell me how you know so much about Reyes's leg. You're in Queens right ? Can I stop by one day and just smack you upside the head for the dumb shit you say sometimes. You're a good kid, you just need some sense knocked into you.

Thats nice but a great SS >>> RF. And Ichiro is a great player but when he gets on base he doesn't strike fear into a pitcher like Reyes does. Also Ichiro has how many more years of professional experience under his belt to hone his craft ?

Mets have been wanting to trade Reyes for awhile, it's no new subject
they'd be MUCH better off getting a pitcher in return for him. David Wright and Carlos Beltran are the key peices of that team.
and Ichiro shits on Reyes as a leadoff hitter + overall player

ichiro per 162 games: .335/.380/.430, 232 hits, 23 doubles, 8 triples, 9 HR, 57 RBI, 106 runs, 39 SB, 7 CS, 62 K, 117 OPS+
lets compare these to Jeter since 2004
Jeter per 162 games: .314/.384/.454, 36 doubles, 3 triples, 17 HR, 80 RBI, 113 runs, 22 SB, 6 CS, 103 K, 120 OPS+
jeter's OPS+ is even higher than Ichiro's granted Jeter spent some of this time as a #2 hitter instead of #1

Jeter is the fuckin' man! 8)

Ichiro>>Reyes IMO, both amazing talents though.
the only thing Reyes has better than Ichiro is he can hit more extra base hits....which i dont care about as much from my LEADOFF hitter.
i'd rather have a guy hit .330 than .290 if he's leading off.
huh?
XBH from a leadoff hitter are GREAT. that sets up your entire inning.

but i'd rather have the guy batting 50 points higher than a guy with a lower average that hits a few more extra base hits.
the leadoff man is fast, he should be able to take second 90% (or more) of the time.

im not debating that, but to say that you dont care (i know you didnt say it..) about XBH from a leadoff hitter is stupid.
regardless, reyes is one of the best SS there is. same goes for ichiro.
how did ichiro get brought up into this anyway? ichiro has NOTHING to do with reyes or the mets....
-
^ohh, i feel you.
yeah XBH from your leadoff hitter are nice, but you have to take the average everyday.
that's a good question though, scroll up & see where he came into the conversation; i just saw "Ichiro/Reyes" & said Ich >>> Reyes. :P
-
Mets have been wanting to trade Reyes for awhile, it's no new subject
they'd be MUCH better off getting a pitcher in return for him. David Wright and Carlos Beltran are the key peices of that team.
and Ichiro shits on Reyes as a leadoff hitter + overall player
\
Where do you get this the Mets have been wanting to trade Reyes for a while lmfao you fuckin moron.

A Yankee fans dumb ass argument got shut down so they have to try and shut down the argument to save face. Notice I even asked hack how come he has no rebuttal for his initial argument of the mets trading Reyes and he won't even go back to it.
-
How come Hack you won't respond to me shutting down your initial argument

How come Hack you won't respond to me shutting down your initial argument
i don't want to speak for Hack, but i have heard it on the radio time & time again.
660 is a Mets station, i don't know if that rumor would just pop up out of the thin air; not to mention that the callers agreed. :-X
i know Yankee fans are "dumbasses, who know nothing", but i suppose Met fans have a few of those sprinkled in if they want Reyes out, those morons. :D

Those Met fans are morons. Unlike you I have no problem criticizing my team. But thats all an act right, so come September I can act surprised. And 660 may play Met gams but the voice of the station is a die hard Yankee fan that hates the Mets. And LOL @ listening to 660 to get a gauge on how knowledgeable sport fans think. You want to discuss baseball with people that actually know Baseball, go over to the the coliseum on SOHH.com. Listening to 660 smh.

I am still cracking up that you take any called on 660 serious. The same callers that say trade this bum and that bum for Albert Pujols lol.

but they're Mets fans...i don't care if they're slightly retarded, they're Mets fans.
& you continue to go & say Yankee fans know nothing.
anyway, i have no problem critizing my team, but i don't feel any need to be agrivated now; we're playing good ball. 8)

Most Yankee fans don't know anything. And where have I ever said there aren't brain dead Met fans either you fucking moron. And like retarded Yank fans don't call up the fan either, huh ? Is Jerome from Manhattan still alive? And the Yanks just got swept by the Halo's going into the all star break.
But back to the Yank fans knowing nothing about baseball, aren't you the one that didn't know who Yovani Gallardo was ? Aren't you the one that tried to say the Mets trading for Ryan Church last season is the equivalent of the Yanks signing Texiera ? LOL... you know nothing about baseball. You follow the Yanks and thats it. You don't know baseball.

so a struggle of being a Mets fan is dealing with retarded Yankee fans, when the Mets have even more retards in their fan base?
i didn't know Yovani Gallardo (a year ago when apparently he wasn't playing because he only threw 24 innings last year ), but i have no idea what you're talking about with the Church/Tex thing lmao.
like i said, i admit (again) to not knowing as much as you, stats anyway; i know the game (the science) of baseball; i play the game everyday, i can't improve my game & follow the majors as closely as some; but i wouldn't go as far as saying "i know nothing", when you still have Mets fans who think they're winning it all this year. :P
