Post by: TraceOneInfinite Flat Earther 96' on July 10, 2009, 01:47:08 AM

Joe Budden:  It's a hit, nigga!
Crooked:  Yo that shit is unfadeable

Joel Ortiz responds:  Yo, I thought that was kind of weak compared to some of my other shit, but if ya'll say it's dope, then it must be, and we only got 6 days to record.  So let's go with it.

Royce in the booth:

"Yo.. I'm thinking about all the bullshit record labels put me threw/
But fuck it, I'm a hard nigga, and Eminem I love you/
So Slaughterhouse flying high nicca like Haley's Comet/
I formed with Slaughterhouse, so my pockets are fatter/
Don't like my shit I beat you up like you was Kim Mathers/
We Rock Stars, I'm about to Relapse on these perscriptions/
And mutherfucker was dissin, just watch when Nicholas Cannon comes missin"

Joel Ortiz:  Yo, It's dope Royce
Joe Budden:  Hott Shit Man
Crooked:  That shit is fire

Royce:  Ahhh really, cause I thought it was kind of cliche' and talking about Em too much, soundin like Relapse, but if ya'll say it's dope and we only got 6 days... so yo, I'm trippin man... I guess I'm a perfectionist like Dre.. anyway, let's go with it!

Crooked I in the booth:

"Now I'm gangsta cause I was signed to Death Row
Nigga Suge was that Piro Blood, Snoop was a Crip
and since I did tracks wit Dre bitches say I'm the shit
Bout to bring the West back, but I got love for the East
And shouts out to downsouth, And Royce makes midwest a Beast
Got bitches, money and drugs so my life is complete!"

Joel Ortiz:  Yo, it's dope homie
Joe Budden:  That's fire
Royce:  Hot Shit, it's a wrap

Crooked:  Ahhh word?  Okay, if ya'll say it's good, it must be dope!

Part 2:  Label Intern plays video for MTV at their office in Times Square

Label Intern:    "Okay... well, we basically wanted to call this meeting to present to you fine folks here at MTV, our first single, it is called "The One" and I think you guys are going to like it.

*everyone sits and watches the video.  Silence ensues for few minutes after video completion*

Label Intern:  "Okay... yeah, well, I hope everyone like it, so we are really hoping for your support here at MTV.  I know these artists have worked all their career to get to this point, and we really feel it's finally paying off.

MTV exec:   "Yeah, we really like the concept and direction of the video.  It seems to fit what our viewers are looking for.  We don't like to challenge our viewership too much.  So yeah... you'll get your few spins here at MTV, heck.. we will even give you a premier on MTV and MTV2 and see if we can generate some excitement for the group.  I mean, after all, Royce, didn't you used to work with Eminem?"

Royce:  "Yeah, num sayin... I mean, Em is my man, I was just chillin wit him and shit the other day and...------

MTV exec:  "Well, could you possibly get him to join your crew for a cut or two on the album?"

Royce:  "Uhhh, yeah, num sayin.. I mean, me and Em, we cool.  Like that's my dude.  I speak to his people, he speaks to my people.  But with this album, we really wanted to show who we are, num sayin, cause we been doin our thing for a long time, and it's our time to shine!"

----silence ensues----

MTV exec:  "Yeah... right.....   so your saying no tracks from Em on the album?"

Royce:  "Well, I guess not, but you know Ortiz used to work wit Dre!"

MTV exec:  "Alright, well, anyway, I think our viewers will like the concept at all, and hey, I must say myself, those girls were pre-tty fine in that video!  And who doesn't like sex, drugs, and celebrity drivvle"

Budden:  "Hee-hee, yeah, that shit was dope!  You know, but sometimes I like to get into more wit my music about dealing with relationships with women.  Cause you know.. I had my heartbroken a few times, like this one song, I---

MTV exec:  "Yeah, I'm sure that's great, but hey, why not put that pretty girlfriend of yours in the video?"

Budden:  "Yeah, sure, but what I'm trying to say is, I try to make music from the heart you know.  We as emcee's really care about the art of making music and what goes into a song.  It's about the lyrics and connectin with our fans"

MTV exec:  "Well then why didn't you show us that with your first single?"

Joel Ortiz:  "Because, the industry is shady---"

Crooked:  "Yeah, like Rass Kass said, "Elevatin be treated like elevator music"---

Joel Ortiz:  "Yeah.. we ain't gettin the respect we deserve, we sooooo under-rated, man I could eat up any emcee..."

Royce:  "Yeah, the labels just ain't been supportin our records like they should, they ain't given it that push that it needs..."

-------(MTV Exec fed up, starts to become frustrated)----

MTV exec:   "Alright, alright, you big babies.  We will give you your 15 minutes of fame, and play the damn video.  Hell, the women look nice, and Royce, maybe we could do something to advertise your past relationship with Eminem.  Now get the fuck out of here"

Royce:  "Wait, wait, don't you want to hear some other cuts from the album?"

MTV exec: "I already know what that shit's going to sound like.  You think I don't know what's up.  Look, you guys probably spent 6 days on the record, and are more concerned about your solo careers than anything else.   The album is going to be, "Dirty Money, Sex, Drugs, Name drop Eminem, name drop Dr. Dre, beef with Wu-tang to try to make people think of us on their level"--- Hell Crooked, a few times you guys even sound like you were copying Em's last record.  I mean, Eminem himself is running out of material, and you chose his new album to try and emulate?   Just get the fuck out of here!

Okay.  You've made your point.  You think Slaughterhouse is a failed experiment.  We get it.  I read your comments about the track "The One" in another thread, and that's obviously a big factor in your thinking this way.  I can agree that it is one of their weaker tracks, but it's also pretty typical of the kind of music studios want to release to the radio as singles.  That doesn't make me hate Slaughterhouse.  It makes me hate the radio.  It's part of the reason I haven't listened to the radio in years.
After I purchase the Slaughterhouse album, I'll admit that it's unlikely that the song "The One" will get as much play as the other tracks on the album.  But it seems to me you've made a huge leap in logic here.  You're assuming that every song on the album is going to be poppy and overly-commercial sounding, because they've released one song that sounds like that.  Check out "Warriors." Check out the clip of "We Outta Here," from Crooked's upcoming e.p.  I think this is the Slaughterhouse we can expect to hear the most from, on their upcoming album.
I do agree with you that the beef with Wutang Clan is pointless and unfortunate.  I also think though, that that situation has been blown out of proportion since the beginning.
Also, it doesn't seem to be an across-the-board beef with all members of the Wutang Clan.  That being the case, I'm hoping the situation will eventually "blow over."
Ultimately, I'm not going to change your mind, if you feel that strongly about it.  But I would recommend you still at least check out the album when it drops.  Then if you still hate the idea of Slaughterhouse, so be it.

lol I had a Day In The Life At Aftermath Part 2 Written up. lol I'll post it tomorrow.

dope... yeah, I wrote some of those.. Another Day At Aftermath and Another Day At Death Row from back in the day here at the forum

Mines sorta playing off all the shit going down at Aftermath, Bishop Lamonts situation, The game's Obsession with Dre, and even has a Small thing on Detox. lol I got to tell you Its a little fucked up, I'll post it tonight xD

I did my Aftermath one back in 02, I think I played on the whole thing about Dre never releasing albums, and all these artists thinking they were going to blow up and Dre didn't really give a fuck.  I kind of took the same angle with the Death Row thing about not releasing albums but also about them still being obsessed with Snoop, Dre, and Pac
