The way I see it, if a rapper raps about robbing and killing and not giving a fuck, then they are basically advocating that lifestyle. So I have no problem downloading their album if they are making songs about stealing.

but rappers don't seem to get pissed about downloading, i haven't really seen or heard one flip out about it.

Artist get signed/money for Certain amount of album sells. Normally High Selling Artist will take a hit, but so many people buy it doesn't matter and they stay signed. Were it really hurts is when its up and coming people who's music is DLed. Look at Blac Haze, his first album went gold, his second didn't do that and he was dropped from EKG records do to the low sells. But honestly I agree Like I give a fuck about the artist.
