The Detroit Pistons have agreed to a two-year deal with free agent Chris Wilcox, a source told ESPN.com.

The deal is for $6 million over the next two years according to sources.

Wilcox was signed as a replacement for Antonio McDyess, who left the team via free agency to sign with the Spurs.

Wilcox is an athletic big who, at 26, still has some upside. However, he's coming off one of the worst seasons of his career.

The previous three years, Wilcox averaged a little more than 13 points, but his numbers dipped to 7.2 per game last season in time split between the Thunder and Knicks.

The Pistons are hoping Wilcox can provide some scoring and athleticism off the bench behind another free agent signing, Charlie Villanueva.

PG Rodney Stuckey...Will Bynum
SG Richard Hamilton...Ben Gordon
SF Tayshaun Prince...Walter Hermann/DaJuan Summers
PF Charlie Villanueva...Jason Maxiell/Austin Daye
C Chris Wilcox...Kwame Brown/Ben Wallace (?)

lookin nice...Gordon off the bench will be huge, and they can run with Wilcox and Charlie V in the front court. dunno how much this will help, but theyre lookin to add Ben Wallace as well.

They are definitely getting alot younger and athletic. Don't think they will be that rock defensively like they were a few years back but they will def be solid.

i don't think they can run with the Lakers, Celtics or Spurs; but maybe they can take the Cavs now. :P

If that team consistently beats Cleveland, LeBron is DEFINITELY not coming back lol

Wilcox is a solid player but much better at the 4 than 5 IMO

Yo I think Detroit is gonna be pretty soft up front this year.  Wilcox is definatly a 4, but kinda slow on his feet on D, altho him and Maxiel are prolly the two toughest interior guys on the Pistons now.  Charlie V is a perimeter 3 or 4, for sure.

Atl-Tor-Orl can switch anywhere between 3--5 though.

he's not coming back regardless, in my opinon.

at this point, even if they win the Finals this year, i don't think he's coming back lol.
