In a semi-surprising development former Aftermath/Shady artist Stat Quo is back in the lab with his old boss and mentor Dr.Dre. After several years of being on label but never securing a proper release date Stat Quo left the label. He released a slew of independent free online street albums with original production and one digital i-tunes album. Various tracks from the tapes have discussed his past relationship with Dr.Dre and the odds he has had with the label - from Dr.Dre's fear of releasing new music to the failure of executives profiting off Aftermath when they were controlling the commercial airwaves and financial pockets of the nation. While originally being disappointed at how his situation on the label developed, he has alway sworn good will on his former employer. Stat has been keeping followers of his twitter up to date on the situation. He first broke the news on July 19th, 2009
Just landed in Hawaii, on my way to see the good Dr......6:01 PM Jul 19th from web
Later in the day he reveals that the relationship will involve working on music for Dr.Dre's mythical Detox,
On my way to the studio, about to Detox....6:49 PM Jul 19th from web
He further discusses the flow of working with Dr.Dre,
Just walked into the studio, and Dre just played me a few things. Im bout to settle in.....about 13 hours ago from web
still in the studio, its like 10:30 out here...no sleep tonight!!!!!about 4 hours ago from web
Man, I'm shocked. I know he's writing for Detox but I get the feeling Statlanta might see an official release even if it's via an independent like E1. This is a good look.
-
great news 8)
what would be even nicer would be if detox was gonna drop this year. just as long as they put it out when it's finished and fresh though.

A mediocre rapper working with a mediocre producer. Woohoo!

and we've got an expert hater on our hands.

No. Stat Quo is a mediocre rapper. I can't change anything about that... and I'm sure you know that the good Doctor doesn't have it anymore.

mediocrity at its most mediocre!
-
he can be in th lab all day everyday with him, he NEVER going to get a Dre beat released publicly

'Get Low', 'Here We Go' - both really hot tracks 8)

Stats mixtape work was pretty dope so if they're working on material like that then i'm happy. Must be nice having a studio in Hawaii...
-
stat quo is wack

'Get Low', 'Here We Go' - both really hot tracks 8)
"Opportunity" also...
Maybe they're working out a sub label for Dre to release his less mainstream artists like Stat and Bishop?
-
I didn't care for stat until I listened to his mixtapes he dropped after aftermath and that boy can spit and spit about subjects that actually matter.Anyone saying he's mediocre have obviously never listened to his music.

That would be ideal, but unlikely.

Granted the song doesn't have deep punchlines like Mr.Crooked I or gets all long and personal like Budden or whatever
THE SONG IS FUCKING DOPE. It's statlanta bitches. Stat Quo one of the best from the South.
edit:
it's not a dre production...hope i didn't give the impression
-
Stat Quo is not a very good MC
-
He's improved a hell of lot since he started and he's a hell of lot better then 70 percent of the game so he's not a bad mc. I can at least call him a mc.
I prefer him because he's hell of honest and sticks to who he is unlike most

as far as internet downloads go this is a very rare Stat Quo VLS. ripped from vinyl & preserved in flac. (the vinyl single itself isn't rare but HQ rips of it are.)
Get Low (Produced By Dr. Dre) [VLS] 2006 Single off Eminem Presents The Re-Up.
01.clean, 02.album, 03.Instrumental, 04.A Cappella.
