Thanks. And thank god they redid the chorus for TG4R. People don't give Death Row enough credit for how they handled Pac's unreleased tracks.

Lol. Well, up till that album came out. And that was a little different because they fucked with already released tracks rather than tracks that had never been released in any form before.

Not Death Row, Hutch deserves the credit. He fixed up these songs and left them in almost OG form..
Niggaz Nature
When I Get Free '96
Ballad of A Dead Soldier
Friends (although I wish he would of left the sample in place like QD3 had it)
He only messed up Words 2 My Firstborn.. Happy Home I don't count as we already had the OG.

Still I Rise was a solid album too though. And ya Hutch did a good job. I wouldn't say he fucked up Words 2 My First Born either. He only really rapped on it, he didn't have much else to do with that song. And he knew 2pac so it's not that big of a deal. If they're gonna add somebody to a track, make it somebody Pac was close to at some point in his life.

Yeah I like what Hutch did with all these songs, though he should kept Quik's beat on Words 2 My Firstborn. His rap part was alright but Nuttso ripped that track.
-
whoever did the beat for words 2 my firstborn ruined the song. I mean they shouldnt have done anything to it.
Same for When We Ride On Our Enemies from Better Dayz....Whoever produced that (briss?) needs to be shot.

dj quik did the og but also the album remix of words 2 my firstborn

why did he switch it up? problems with a sample or something? the OG was gold.

The sample is still there on the retail, you can 'just' hear slightly and no more. Death Row in full deserve to be credited more for their overall directive management of 2Pac music on releases. People may shout out 'Nu Mixx' when they hear that, but in regards to the "previously" unreleased material they put out, they did a cleaner, and more worthy job, which doubled the quality of Amaru in the same period of time

I dont have them by me but regardless of what they say, Quik did both beats, that's not disputable. If Hutch is credited it's just because he made some minor tweaks. Quik went on the radio and played a premix of the released version of Words 2 My First Born. That's pretty concrete proof he did the beat.

You must both be right. Because in the liner notes it credits Hutch for producing "Words 2 My First Born," but I also have a radio rip of the track where Dj Quik is on the radio introducing the track and it's basically the same version that's on the "Until the End of Time" album.

Hutch technically did some production on it obviously or he wouldnt be credited BUT the majority of the production including the beat, rhythm, etc. was done by Quik.

Did u completely ignore everything I've said in my last few posts? Hutch may have done some touch ups to it and mixed it differently but that is without a doubt dj quik's beat and the radio rip proves that.

i thought Nu Mixx vol 1 had some DOPE cuts on it - but it would've been better if it had been a 2pac - Crooked I collabo album ;)

QD3 confirmed to me this is the true OG and he also has another version.
