Detroit Rapper Royce Da 5'9, who's biggest work to date includes collaborations with Eminem and DJ Premier, has sample Tupac's 'Pain' beat (from Above The Rim OST). The beat is featured on 'Who Am I?' from his new album, 'Rock City'.

First of all we are talking about PAIN, one of the best tracks EVER in rap history, imo. It's not about the beat, it's just STATE OF ART! This track is nothing but art!
Second, most of this ppl who sampled Pac did it just cause Pac means $. Just like Tha Relativez releasing an album called "Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Relativez". $. Nothing more.

Oh c'mon man. I know you got 1% in your mind of intelligence! USE IT. I think the whole world thinks that. I know you only care about beats and about the voice of the rapper, but.. this track MADE Pac! At least for his REAL fans! Go to ohhla.com and read the lyrics. Something so DEEP is hard to find in a rap song. It's one of the tracks that MADE Pac the number 1 (i know you think it's Snoop the number 1, or Rakim or whoever! But the media and the world voted Pac! LOL!). Download this track and read the lyrics.

Why is everyone concered about artists using Pac's music? Nas is using a verse of Pac on his new CD, So is Jah Rule, Jay Z has remade Me & My Girlfriend, thats the 3 biggest names in rap. Surely Tupac fans should be honoured? or even happy that his name is still out there.
I think Suge cut deals with Nas & Jah (And Jay Z?) for verses on Crooked I & NINA albums.

* Hating on artists who work with somebody major

Thats dope that Pac performed that on arsenio,,,,,its weird, i listened to that song since it came out and always thought pac did the second verse too.......him and Stretch sound so similar on this song.......if you could hook me up on MSN Anto Corsa, that would be dope....peace

Not only is this old news but Royce didn't even directly sample 2Pac's "Pain", he just used the same sample that was used for "Pain". Ain't nothing bad about that. Anyways, aslong as someone uses a sample in the right context who cares? At the end of the day it's only showing love to the artist.

You are right. I've just quoted the last news from 2paclegacy.com, lol. You are all acting like Royce did this shit in 1999! LOL! Some of us doesnt live in this forum, sorry! And yes, nobody is saying it's a negative thing to sample Pac. Personally i'm just saying that, obviously, Pac's version cant be compared to this one.
