The Funk Edition # 3 goes to "On A Sunday Afternoon" by A Lighter Shade Of Brown.
Producer: ???
Featuring: Huggy Boy
Album: Brown & Proud
Notes: I've uploaded the Radio Mix which I've taking from the "Latin Lingo - Hip Hop From La Raza Vol.1" compilation.
Kicked off by the radio-friendly voice of Huggy Boy, the mellow "On A Sunday Afternoon" punctuates the laid-back, coolin'-in-the-park lifestyle of Southern California. This light A Lighter Shade Of Brown melody samples "Crystal Blue Persuasion" the 1969 hit by Tommy James & The Shondells, as well as The Young Rascals' 1966 jammie "Groovin'", with relaxed results and even manages to give shout-outs to Whittier Boulevard, the famous cruising thoroughfaire. --> Source: Booklet of the "Latin Lingo..." compilation.
