Title: E1 is only shipping 35k Slaughter House albums to retail stores
Post by: pootypooty on August 02, 2009, 09:52:31 AM
For those planning on purchasing this album in stores, Royce said last night via live stream that E1 is initially shipping out 35k CD's to stores. If 1st week sales show more demand, then E1 will press more for a 2nd shipment.

You can also pre-order the album at Best Buy & Amazon. Best Buy has it on sale for $9.99 with free shipping.

Why are all Slaughterhouse threads double posted?

That's what I expected they'd sell 1st week. I hope they move them all.

Why are all Slaughterhouse threads double posted?

Because not everybody visits both boards, so I do it as a courtesy to both crowds who might otherwise miss the news.

Also because the group is multi-regional which also has a West Coast member.

Kinda dissapointing since even Cam'ron sold 45k first week with smaller internet buzz.. But he is more well known though. Oh well.. I hope they'll sell well

It's been working this way for the past 9 months, so why change now?

E1 is more of a distribution label then promotion, A&R, etc. Well back when it was Koch. Now they are beginning to spend more time, effort and money into promo. But I think with the group they actually see some potential in sales. IMO to ship 100k copies of it would be asking too much. I mean really outside of internet buzz, word of mouth and a mainly online video, that is really all that has been done. So I think they are being on the safe side and shipping a smaller amount first.

Because the slaughterhouse hype will decrease rapidly now that the album has leaked

This album will pick up steam . It's an above average album for sure ( and I'm a critic ) . It should move at least a 100k eventually .

I predict 20k copies for the first week. It's not the type of nusic that sells a lot

I'd like 100k, tough.

thats fair enough. i doubt theyll do more than 35k in one week. Anything over 50k in total would be pretty good considering its an indie label.

Probably a smart move to help avoid printing up too many.  I'm glad I ordered mine from Amazon.com.  Now I don't have to bother with driving from store to store, looking for one.

No way it will move more than 15-20k the first week.
