Warren G Returns With New Studio LP, The G Files, With Special Guests Snoop Dogg, Ray J & Travis Barker

With six LP’s already under his belt and 10 million copies sold worldwide, Warren G will release his seventh studio LP, The G Files, on 9-29-09. The album features the Snoop Dogg assisted lead-single, “Swagger Rich” and highlighted tracks, “Crush” with Ray J, “Let’s Get High (420)” with Black Nicc and guest Travis Barker on drums, “Suicide” with RBX and “100 Miles and Runnin” with Nate Dogg and Raekwon.
His laid back flow and production have made him an undisputed Hip-Hop legend, but those attributes and accomplishments have and always will certify multi-platinum rapper and producer, Warren G as a West Coast icon.
Warren G exploded out of the burgeoning Long Beach rap scene in 1994 and while many of his West Coast contemporaries such as Tupac, Dr. Dre, and Snoop signed record deals with LA's Death Row Records, Warren G took an alternative route and signed with Def Jam in New York, quickly proving he had something remarkable up his sleeve. His 1994 debut album, Regulate...G Funk Era, certified Warren G as a multi-platinum internationally acclaimed artist. He also received multiple award nominations (Grammy, American Music, Soul Train) for his smash hit “Regulate.”
Def Jam founder and the God Father of Hip Hop, Russell Simmons, would later cite Warren G's signing as “a turning point" for the storied Def Jam Records imprint and its subsequent mega-success. "After that, Def Jam never looked back," Simmons wrote in his book Life and Def. Likewise, as one of the first rap artists to appear on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” Warren G helped put the West Coast on the Hip-Hop map with his success and by nurturing the careers of many other talented artists that would follow in his path.
Subsequent albums Take a Look Over Your Shoulder (1997) and I Want It All (1999) were certified gold and generated hits "I Want It All" and "I Shot The Sheriff," a cover of Bob Marley's popular song by the same name. Warren’s 2001 release Return of the Regulator showcased his studio skills through working with legendary artists like Stevie Wonder and George Clinton (the two, alongside the late Tupac Shakur, are cited by Warren as some of the great highlights of his extensive collaborations over the years). In 2004, Warren reunited with his teenage group, 213, (which also features Snoop and Nate Dogg) to release Hard Way, which quickly went Gold and further cemented Warren’s legacy.
Warren’s musical accomplishments have also translated to the silver screen, where he made an unforgettable cameo in “Old School” and he has also appeared on numerous reality shows including VH1’s “Celebrity Fit Club” Flavor Flav’s “Flavor Of Love,” Ray J’s “For The Love Of Ray J” and he appeared as a mentor on “Celebrity Rap Superstar.” Warren has also appeared on television shows such as “The Parkers,” “Clueless” and “The Parent Hood” and contributed to countless movie soundtracks (including “Poetic Justice” “Above The Rim” “Bad Boys” “Barbershop 2”) and appeared on video games (NBA 09 and Def Jam Fight For NY).
Not only is Warren G back with The G Files, but the West is back!!

You never know with that Gigolo, but seriously I am glad there is a bit of a track listing change.
-
thank god...

A track with Nate, Warren and Raekwon, oh shit. 8)

thank god...

From what i know i think Quik mixed that track..
A track with Nate, Warren and Raekwon, oh shit. 8)
-
Crush w/ Ray J is possibly one of the best mainstream rap records I've heard in years. Also I remember "Gangsta Love" the 1st track on G's 1999 I Want It All album, with RBX - one of my favorite Warren G tunes! This album will be classic.

Should be crystal clear then. No problem with his mixing, just his production doesn't do it for me.
-
Can't wait for this album, Even though i hate the word Swagger, The song Swagger Rich is a banger !!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I'm glad there is some change and i agree the song with Rbx on I want it all was the shit i have re listened it recently, i can assert that with confidence.
Big Nate, Big Snoopy, & the G Child, sounds like two-one-three to me. plus the factor X that is RBX
But seriously G, put gigolos get lonely on it, maybe even a remix.

that suicide song is just a rename of the "we came here to ride" track, lol wasnt that song on the "TRUE CRIME: STREETS OF L.A. (SOUNDTRACK)". which they mixed up by naming it "what ya wanna do" , which was actually the name of a track of warren's featuring nate dogg.
"we came here to ride" is 6 years old. is warren that cheap that he needs to use songs that he recorded 6 years ago to fill up the album?
you would think someone like warren wouldve recorded tons of tracks for the gfiles album, and then choose the best tracks for the album. instead the guy is using old ass "crush" and "ringtone" which have been out since like 2007, which are wack as fukk, and then the rbx song which is from 2003. i mean its a good song, but its old as fukk.
-
old nate hook???
-
nah, the nate hook from the "100 miles & runnin" track is new.
i have heard the hook by nate playing in the background on warren's ustream video.
its new, and is pretty dope.
-
Hey i have a question , doesnt Warren G know that Celly Cel released a album called The G Filez in like 1997 - 98 ?
-
Has the final tracklistin' leaked? I don't think Warren should include those leaked tracks except for "Swagger Rich".
-
^^
swagger rich is the worst of the tracks that have been leaked.
and i think "mr dj" & "gigolos get lonely 2" should be on the album.
-
thank god, we need the whole dpg fam on the album. its a shame gigolos get lonely 2 aint gonna be on ther
wow..thast good news but "gigolos get lonely 2" aint there?damn..it´s the only song by warren i liked since he dropped "i want it all"! :(

yeah I was thinking the same: the X song is probably from the soundtrack.
wouldnt mind it being on the album though (maybe a new version).
Shame about "Giggalos get lonely 2" not being on there: like that song.

Ps. Warren hasn't dropped a weak album yet. This one is going to be the shit.
