Is it fun? im plannin on playin next season.. hahah some 1 give me the 101

the Yahoo one is pretty fun, especially private leagues. you get to go through a whole draft.
public leagues are ok, but you usually get only 4 or 5 other teams that are checking regularly.
private leagues are better because u can customize the stats u want, how many teams u want, how many players, etc. and there is more participation.
I used to play SportingNews as well, but that one gets annoying. you get a set amount of money and u have to buy players. u have monitor the prices because they fluctuate. and you only get to make like 2 trades every week so u have to use them wisely (or u can let them add up).
-
we got a league on the board every year....ive won the last 3 seasons. 8)
ima set it up as soon as the shit is ready. probably around september.
-
damn how do i get in nik?cuz my son jd is gonna wanna play.............

I played that type for fantasy football. I thought it was kind of fun. It adds that mathematical and budget element to it. The only thing I didn't like was when a player's price would fluctuate after you already signed him. I thought if you signed a player and his cost rised, you should be able to keep him at the price he was signed. A reward for making a smart addition. But even that creates some problems.

I liked sporting news in the beginning when I started a few years ago...I guess I just got lazy over time cause I kept forgetting to check it on a day-to-day basis.
plus some of the prices were ridiculous IMO; it was hard to construct a decent team...but I guess that's where talent and knowledge would come in.
I'll probably try it again when hockey and basketball start...I dunno anything about football otherwise I would try that too lol.

how does the lottery/draft work?
-
^the draft order is randomized and goes in a wrap-around.
example: if NIK gets first pick, you get 2nd, and I were to get 3rd in the first round, then in the 2nd round i'd get the 1st pick, ud get the 2nd, and NIK would get 3rd.

when will the new yahoo leagues be up again?
-
probably around September is when they'll get them up.

it's fun, but it's really time consuming if you want to do well in it.

indeed, especially when u have 5 or 6 other teams lol
-
how much time consuming? i mean idc i was waiting all season to play.
-
well the draft takes about 1 to 1.5 hrs to do
then u have to update your team on a daily basis; that takes about 5 or 10 minutes.
but you have to pay attention to who is doing well in the free agents; there may be some guys doing well in a stat category that you are struggling with.
and then there will also be trade offers.
if u spend like 2 or 3 hours total a week; that'll be enough. u can do it while u logon to dubcc or something.

i really wouldnt consider it THAT time consuming...it only took me a few minutes a day to adjust my roster and id check how my players are doing by watching nba tv/nba game time. you did pretty well last season.

you have to outperform your opponent in more stat categories to pick up a win.
example: say the stats are assists, points, and rebounds; and you're facing me.
you have 20 assists while I have 15 for the week, you'd get a win.
then for points say u had 150 and I had 175, i'd get a win.
and finally for rebounds say you have 50 while I had 40, you'd get another win.
and the final score for the week would be 2-1 for you, and 1-2 for me.
