Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy(notes) has agreed to a five-year contract extension worth between $78 million and $82 million, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.

The Blazers are planning a news conference with Roy on Thursday to announce the deal.

After several weeks of sometimes contentious negotiations, The Oregonian reported on Wednesday that the two sides were closing on an agreement.

Roy's always gonna be overlooked cause he's not flashy like most all star guards but still an amazing talent and will be for years to come.
