You are just saying these things to get a reaction out of people aren't you. Joell far from sucks.
-
Not really, Dre cares about his $ and that comes from commercial success, which Joell will likely never have :(
-
According to Joell Dre allowed him to be let free. If he really wanted to be a shit head he could've kept him there for a long time.
-
I agree with post # 2,3, and 8
-
Joell is definitely tight, but the fact that Dre didn't blink when he dropped Rakim, Hittman, or the NWA Reunion album from being released, makes me doubt that this will be any different.
-
Nah cuz unfortunately all Dre cares about is money and record sales and Joell won't ever sell many records.
-
No. Not really.

are you four years old? are sales relevant in 2009? really? your IQ must be below 50. SMH
anyway, no Dre doesn't care & he shouldn't; did he even have anything to do with the release of Joell?
all he continues to show is his amazing hear for talent; Joell, Bishop, Game. :o

Corrected. Ortiz is one of the only ones to actually leave without staying on the shelf for over 2 years, really wise guy. I'm sure they would've tried to put him on these corny club tracks or built a gangsta imago.
-
diversity of opinion is always appreciated. if we all agreed it'd be a bore
-
ortiz is that dude but dre dosent give a shit.

I don't agree. If Dre was only concerned with that, we would have gotten like 3 Detox albums by this point plus an N.W.A. reunion album two times over. He seems to be the polar opposite. He's just in the last couple of years start to pick up some commercial endorsements. If Dre only was interested in the finances, he sure went about it the wrong way.
-
I think Ortiz made the right choice to leave aftermath, but I would be suprised if Dre hasn't checked out Joell's verses since they left on no hard feelings...so who knows, maybe after Detox (if we get to that stage) we wil hearl Ortiz on some Dre tracks.
-
aftermath is only interested in multi-platinum type of sales. anything other than that is a flop. ortiz is an AMAZING talent, but he could never go platinum, because he doesnt do that popcorn radio shit.
im sure dre knew and knows the talent of ortiz...thats why he was signed in the first place!! but they werent doing anything with him, ortiz asked for his release and got it. even if he didnt ask for his release and if he would of been content ghostwriting and sitting on the shelf, he would of gotten released after he flopped.
-
Did Dre let him keep any tracks he made on Aftermath? Is there any songs hes done with Dre out or leaked? I never heard any.
-
Personally, if there's any artist to make a single that comes to the caliber of Juicy I think it'll be Joell Ortiz. He's just got to find that right beat and spit with the right vocal infliction then he'll be straight. Kid has the words.
-
And he also has a dope voice which helps in the mainstream market.
-
No doubt dre knows that lyrically joell is great but sales wise he isnt going to reach the standards aftermath expect.
-
dre has joell's offering to write for him. not a big deal for dre.
-
As much as Dre has an ear for music, dude also has a feel for commercial success and as dope as Ortiz is, and dude is dope, he is never going to reach mainstream success. Whatever it is that Dre looks for in that area, Joell just lacks it...That somethin, somethin. Whatever it is.
-
I doubt he's trippin off it
-
Why? Joell still has no real buzz.
