NEW YORK (AP)—David Ortiz(notes) thinks legal supplements and vitamins likely caused him to land on a list of alleged drug users seized by the federal government, and Major League Baseball and the players’ association said some of the names on the list never tested positive for steroids.
MLB said in a statement Saturday that at most 96 urine samples tested positive in the 2003 survey—and the players’ association said 13 of those were in dispute.
“I definitely was a little bit careless back in those days when I was buying supplements and vitamins over the counter—legal supplements, legal vitamins over the counter—but I never buy steroids or use steroids,” Ortiz said during a news conference before his Boston Red Sox played the New York Yankees. “I never thought that buying supplements and vitamins, it was going to hurt anybody’s feelings.”

I know you're trying to be cute with this, but really take a look at Ortiz' career. He has excellent minor league numbers. This guy was putting up great numbers as a 20-21 year old in a AA/AAA. It wasn't just great numbers, it was good BB rates, so that tells you one thing. He's always known the difference between a ball or a strike. This is something steroids does not teach you. He was never given an absolute fair shot with the Twins. he was basically jerked around by the Twins management....part of it was his injuries though so it's somewhat understandable. Either way, he never played a full season. And the most amount of time he played he still put up a .810 OPS. Take off the steroids, he still has a great career.

during the summer I have been working from 8:00am to 4:30pm and taking summer classes from 5:30 to 10:30 pm monday through thursday. I also had a streak of working 21 days in a row that ended today. So thats why I haven't been watching. But I keep up with the team and with the current state of the team I am much happier not watching the dreck that worthless fuck Omar Minaya put out there. According to your own personal cheerleader cham I only want Omar Minaya fired so when the Mets win I can act surprised. So please dont question my fandom, not everyone can be a front runner like you Hack :D

Yeah, they see themselves with pockets full of cash. Why would a player feel that bad about this? They're the insiders, they're the ones that see the culture in the locker room.
