Yeah, I noticed that, he also sounded a little different than normal. I think he's trying to change his style a little to make it easier for him to get signed. Def Jam wanted him to dumb his shit down, which is why he didn't release with them.

Could be the case. All these who are only "spitters" with too complex rhymes have a tough time getting mainstream success. With exceptions, of course.
