With six LP’s already under his belt and 10 million copies sold worldwide, Warren G will release his seventh studio LP, The G Files, on 9-29-09. The album features the Snoop Dogg assisted lead-single, “Swagger Rich” and highlighted tracks, “Crush” with Ray J, “Let’s Get High (420)” with Black Nicc and guest Travis Barker on drums, “Suicide” with RBX and “100 Miles and Runnin” with Nate Dogg and Raekwon.

Gigalos get lonely too?
-
Wasn't that a buzz record in anticipation for the album? This album is going to be a classic.
-
Not lookin' forward to this album. :-\
-
Why?
-
Why?
Just doesn't look like it's got a lot of good songs to offer. Swagger Rich & Crush were terrible.
I didn't mind She Got her Own Ringtone tho.
-
Ok, remember this is 2009 and music has evolved since 94. I personally think both of those tracks are mainstream masterpeices that if they were released on Def Jam, they would top every chart possible. This album sounds so far like 5 Mics to me. What's that Ringtone track? Got a link broski?

Warren G should have sticked to production like he had on "The Return Of The Regulator". Bangin' West Coast beats.

I know it's not going to sound anything like back in '94, the G-funk era will never come back, it's been almost 20 years, that's like saying the Electro-hop style from the 80's will come back or even disco. I could care less what style it is as long its catchy, and so far, I'm not feelin most of em. Check the archives on dubcnn. it was from like June 2008.

LOL
I like the Gigalos get lonely too track, but haven't listened to anything else. Swagger, Ringtone, and Rich tracks sound like it's on some auto-tune Kanye, Soulja Boy shyt though, which may be modern, but being modern with the rest doesn't make an impact, and isn't always timeless. Being unique and delivering music with quality regardless of its era of sound will be admired
Quick sales can happen anytime
Quality creates long-lasting fan bases

dope warren g music in 2009 = let's get high
wack warren g in 2009 = swagger rich
it's nothing to do people not accepting evolution in an artist's music. that let's get high joint has the classic warren g sound while updating it with a crisp, live drumset. swagger rich is just a sub-standard timbaland rip-off that won't stand the test of time, or even a few spins...
-
Swagger Rich is a monster.
-
swagger rich
crush
ringtone
^^
absolute wack sellout pop songs.
warren in past interviews tried to say he would never sellout out, and always keep it gfunk.
he apparently has forgotten he said this

I don't understand the negative vibes here. Tracks like Gigolos Get Lonely 2 and Let's Get High are vintage laid-back G Funk. Mr. DJ has a little more energy and is nice and Swagger Rich IS a good single choice.
I guarantee if we heard Crook or Game comin out with the same tracks, you'd be talking about how hot the shit is.
I will give you this, in my opinion, Crush is weak but!.
-
^^
yes, Gigolos get lonely 2, lets get high and mr dj are decent songs, but swagger rich, ringtone & crush are fukking terrible, and thats what everyone is criticizing him for.
now supposedly this album is only like 12 tracks, and to have 3 tracks on there that are totally wack, then those 3 other decent songs, and plus a song with rbx called suicide (also known as "we came here to ride", or the incorrect name "what you wanna do" which was also the name an old nate dogg track with warren) that was featured on the "true crimes" soundtrack way back in 2003, doesnt make the album sound promising.

Well Warren hasn't dropped a wack album yet, so I don't know why the worry. The G Files sounds classic to me. We haven't even heard 95% of the album. Sept 29 let's go!

Too bad no one really gives a fuck about Warren G in 2009.
