Title: AL Cy Young?
Post by: Chamillitary Click on September 06, 2009, 12:00:26 AM
as much as i want to say CC, Zack Greinke still has the numbers.

if the season ended today i think i'd give it to Greinke; but things could change with within the next few weeks.

i agree with that.
he's got the best ERA and WHIP, 2nd in Ks, 3rd in BAA, and not too far back in wins.

do you give the Cy Young to a guy on a team who has a chance to lose 100 games though?

sounds ethically wrong lol.

Grienke, King Felix, Verlander should be the top three.

SMH.... he should suffer b/c he doesn't participate in 135 games lmfao.  That logic works when it comes down to MVP but not Cy Young.  If it wasn't because you have the yankee fan sense of entitlement you would realize Greinke has been the best pitcher in the AL this season.

that would explain why i said that Greinke is the Cy Young.

if you say it doesn't work for Cy Young, how could it work for MVP?

if a player was batting .345, 45 HRs & 120 RBI's (because nobody is ever on base); you wouldn't give him MVP because his team is shit?

no way.

Zach has a lower ERA, same amount of Complete Games (6), given up less hits & has like 35 more K's.

EDIT: but agreed Tom is one to talk.

the royals do not count for a Major League franchise

and if Greinke pitched for NYY his ERA would be 4.50+

No it wouldn't, his ERA would be higher no doubt but a 4.50 LMFAO GTFOH.   Coming up he wasn't called the next Greg Maddux for nothing.  Let me guess though, Maddux wasn't that good because he never pitched for the Yanks.

I didn't say it, scouts were saying it when he came up lmfao.  Like I said if he was a Yank you would already have him voted into Cooperstown.

you mean like you always say.

there has not been one thread where that old quote wasn't pulled out of your little bag. :D

but if he was on the Yankees, he would be on a 95+ game winning team. ;)

EDIT: more if he was actually on the Bombers.

According to your boyfriend hack he wouldn't be a good pitcher though on the Yanks.

he would be better than everybody but CC, this season anyway.

but he wouldn't have the numbers he has now; the ERA would spike up to about 3.50-4.

Lets say thats true, I would still take Halladay, King Felix, and Verlander over CC in the Cy Young race

maybe Doc & Felix, but i don't know about Verlander.

Verlander only has a .2 better ERA than CC & CC pitches in Yankee Stadium.

CC would have better numbers than Verlander if he was a Tiger.

CC and Verlander are interchangeable in the cy young debate.

true & even if we agreed on somebody better it wouldn't matter because Zack has better numbers than both of them & should win it.

& nobody gives a fuck about who finishes second.

why shouldnt zack get it? cause he plays with the royals?  come on.

that doesnt affect anything except wins.  his era, whip, baa, k/bb, IP, all that doesnt get thrown out just cause he plays for a team that could get beaten by a AA team.

Zack Greinke deserves it.

check this out; http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7257/gamelog

he pitched amazing against most teams this year, but what teams are those?

his worst performance (besides June 5th vs. the Blue Jays) was against Tampa Bay who was probably the best opponet he faced lol.

point being, i don't see a Yankees, Redsox, Dodgers type lineup on there.

now Halladay's competition is impressive; http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6134/gamelog ;)
