what a fuckin' freak of a ballplayer! :o
imagine if he came here as a 18 year old kid. :o

LOL @ ichiro being "on his way to the best ever" lmao
pujols shits on him
-
He's also gonna be the first player to have 9 straight 200 hit seasons 8), a truly amazing player I can only imagine how crazy his stats would be if he had played in the major leagues during his prime :o

two different players, each best at their respective positions.

nigga ichiro is MAD over rated in a historical perspective. he's nowhere near the best ever at his position...not top 5, probably not top 10 either
pujols is already a top 5 1st baseman of all time
pujols's first 9 seasons are matched by only Williams and Dimaggio
-
Only Al Simmons did it quicker. I looked him up on BR and saw he was quite a beast.
I looked when he finished 2nd in the MVP race (http://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/awards_1925.shtml#ALmvp) because he had fantastic numbers, wondered who could he beat them. Not sure how voting was done back then, he crushed the winner in almost every category.

al simmons indeed was a beast
part of that Philly A's dynasty
the MVP voting back then is just like it is now: you have to be on a playoff team lol

i meant more along the lines in the game today, not historically.
he came in the league at 27? right? i forgot & just yesterday he got his 2,000th hit (second fastest to ever do it).
2,000 hits in 9 seasons, if he stays in his State of Zen & can play another 9 seasons (competitively) & you could the 7 years he could have been in the league before he came over, we could of had a new All Time hits leader.

And I don't know what year they changed it but once you won it you had to wait 6-7 years again before you could win it. Thats why Babe Ruth only has one MVP.
