i think it shows it's incredibly harder to pitch in the AL.

people can't pitch in the AL, go to the NL and dominate.

Lee, CC, Arroyo, Brad, Smoltz.

Arroyo has been ass cheeks in the NL.  But when Penny and Smoltz were in the AL all their other stats indicated they had pitched must better than their ERA would let you know.  Actually with Smoltz a lot of his stars were in line for his career except he was giving up the long ball.
