Female singers who talk like that believe it protects their singing voice.

Are you serious? So she can speak regularly, but she does speak like that on purpose? :o

I've never heard her speak 'regularly', but i remember an interview with Beyoncé waaaaaaay back in the day. She said her voice coach told her to protect her larynx by spekaing in a certain way, and she started doing the Michel'le voice.

lol I keep getting confused I know hteir was 3 singers "Lady V" "Michel'le" and Jewell. I love em all 8) but, damn I keep getting confused mad sometimes cause when you bring up the name on a search it shows the picture of the other. I think people commonly mistake Michel'le for Jewell and believe Jewell might be a alternate name. Like 2pac had Makaveli.

why do you make such dumb threads? lol j/k
Its interesting that you guys brought up the fake talking voice thing. You know who else does that? The king himself...Michael Jackson. Dudes voice is actually a lot deeper than that soft girly voice he uses in most interviews. But when he was younger he was told to talk like that to preserve his vocal chords. Makes sense, dude's career spanned 3 decades.
