LOL - it leaks just as WideAwake are about to release it anyway!
-
best sounding one yet. But I think the one on Lost Sessions will be much better sounding (i.e., the girls' vocals in the background don't sound all the way clear in the video) unless this is how best it's gonna get.

-
Why Doggystyle has ended as a left-over instead of being quite dope track on "Doggystyle" album? What's the story?

same question for G'Z UP HOES DOWN and THE NEXT EPISODE

-
You will wait

also did glitt really run that snoop website? that shit was awesome!
-
It sound like it's not mixed. This had 2 come from a tape. Y release it now? This is a great way 2 tease people. I'm still looking forward 2 The Lost Sessions, Vol. 1.

Why Doggystyle has ended as a left-over instead of being quite dope track on "Doggystyle" album? What's the story?
same question for G'Z UP HOES DOWN and THE NEXT EPISODE
I thought I remembered hearing that all three had sample clearance issues. Does anyone know, is that correct? Or was there some other reason for their omission? "G'Z Up, Hoes Down" at least got a limited release on the first pressing of Doggystyle and has since been re-released on the 15 Years on Death Row compilation. And we're finally getting a CDQ version of the track, "Doggystyle." But we've never gotten a good version of "The Next Episode."
-
Its amazing how much difference CDQ makes, that little funky bassline is much more pronounced 8)
Can't wait to get my hands on Lost Sessions.
-
But we've never gotten a good version of "The Next Episode."
I'm sure one day it will suddenly leak...
-

somebody`s sharing a piece not the full cake. silly if you think that the song will be available in its full glory in about 4 weeks

hey lil jay i thought u were the one that put together snoopsdogghouse.com?
-
Classic track. Makes me even more excited to hear the version WideAwake releases. I bet that shit will sound so clean with Big Bass getting his hands on it. If that guy mastered it back in 93 it would've sounded amazing, but with all the advances since then and experience he's had in the last 16 years I'm positive this will sound amazing when it drops.

damn Seeing as Dre was rushed into producing the second half of the album its pretty amazing he was able to create an album with leftovers like this.
-
damn the lost sessions is going to be some dope early death row/doggystyle days stuff... i always like the sound of this track and cant wair to hear the propely mastered version on the lost sessions... Damn i wonder how many death row tracks wideawake acquired ?

G'z up and Doggystyle had sample clearance issues. The Next Episode was pulled because Dre couldn't have any vocals on Snoops albume due to his contract.
-
where have u heard/read such a thing. I mean Dre can be heard on the Rage Intro ("Yeah, and ya don't stop/quit"). Maybe doesn't this count as vocals ???.

That's interesting. Do you know why Dre's contract was set up that way. It seems strange, since Snoop was all over "The Chronic."

He's is wrong. The original Doggystyle had 1 sample clearance issue for the track "Next Episode". The Doggystyle track was a real left over, as such it never really was suppose to be apart of it. The re-issue came but Next Episode COULDN'T be put on Not only for the samplin issue, but also cause Dr. Dre had negated Death Row from dropping any tracks with his vocals. As such it wouldn't be on the rereleease.
Gz up Hoes down, for the rerelease had its own sampling issue. On the original it was cleared.
Doggystyle was a session that was just a left over, that was never put apart of the Original track listening I think.
-
props.....
-
If G'z Up Hoes Down was cleared then why was it taken off of the second pressing of Doggystyle? Not the remastered version but original's second pressing. My copy has it but my wife's doesn't and her copy isn't remastered. She bought it some time in 1994. I got mine on the release date.
-
"G'z Up" was removed because of issues with clearing the Issac Hayes sample. It was pulled from the subsequent pressings of the album. I'm pretty sure that "Next Episode" was taken off because Dre made the creative decision to only be involved as a producer and not guest rap. He wanted to play more of a background role.

I'm pretty sure everything you just said is factually inaccurate.
-
Have to agree with everyone...the track is simply awesome! Imagine, the Doggystyle album was incredibly well done but can you imagine how the whole cd would have been had there been Next Episode OG, Gz Up, Smoke On, and of course Doggystyle. Then again, next month we'll get to hear a full cd of unreleased Snoop when he was truly at his best so let's sit tight, roll it up, and take a long nice hit of the shit as we're getting the shit with the upcoming releases from Wideawake.
-
"smoke on" by snoop doesnt sound like dre production.
sounds like it was made in like 94, just after doggystyle, produced by maybe daz and soopafly.
i could be wrong tho
-
Is George Clinton on this track or what?
It sounds to me like a pretty good imitator to me but not the man himself.

Nope, Next Episode was just taken off at the last minute do to the sample issue. if you see the original pressing, its listed, but its not on it.
-
Thank god wa is around good to hear the old dr stuff!
olz 4 life
-
why would Dre have even created the track Next Episode in the first place if he had a contract where they couldn't use his vocals for other albums?
-
This song is alright, dunno how they would have fit this song in the album, maybe the last track?
-
Homies, thats not the full version!!!!! The full version is 5min long with a dope guitar outro.
Fuck the LEAKER!!! We are waiting for this song since 2002... since wideawake will release it they hook it up!

It's been out longer than 2002, I have some burned cd's back from like 1998 that I put it on, so it's been out for over 10 years now. To me this sounds like it came from a vinyl, at the end it sounds like someone is picking up the needle from the record.

very funny, I don't even know you....
It's the same unreleased shit that we all have, next episode, etc... never bothered to compare quality, but I would say it's about the same shitty quality that's out now, MAYBE slightly better. I was just pointing out that most of these songs have been around since like 96,97,98, etc., not 2002.

Very unlikely that it came from vinyl. Pressing vinyl isn't as simple as burning a cd or dubbing a cassette. I'm sure you already know that but I'm just saying for an unreleased track like this they wouldn't probably wouldn't have even made a test pressing.

yea you're totally right, after listening to it more closely, I am hearing what appears to be some cassette sounds, like the little blips in the track. I take back my needle theory at the end too, sounds more like the intro to another track or something to that effect, in the end I don't really care cuz in a month we'll be able to hear the full in cdq from the official source.
