Why didn't they just down the ball on the kickoff?
-
I missed a bit, how the heck did NE get the ball back so fast?
-
What a FUCKING joke!
I want to find McKelvin and kick him in his fucking teeth. 1 first down and the game is over. You don't get it then you punt and make them work for a TD. You do not run it out and try and be a hero and then give the shitty Pats chance to make a play. Jets are gonna fucking run over them next week.

that was ridiculous, but if i had to guess i would say he wasn't sure if he caught the ball outside of the N-Zone & didn't want to get hit with a safety.
but he should have just kneeled it, took it at the 20, ran 3 run plays, make the Pats use the timeouts, punt it & say goodluck.
even thought Tom Brady still may have made the comeback. :o ;D

Pats scored, kicked the ball off with 2:06 left, McKelvin fumbled it, Pats picked it off, Brady showed off the magic.

Saw the score, missed the kickoff. So idiot fumbled it on the kickoff ey.

yeah, but hesitated when he first caught it, as if he was just going to kneel it.
ran it out & the dumb fuck fumbled it on the 30.

was shitting my pants the second half. The Pats need to work on closing out a drive.
-
they dont suck i underestimated them but it was a great ending

as long as they can close out a game & as long as Brady is taking the snaps, you don't have much to worry about...except...

Magic? What fucking Magic is that? Hitting a wide open first look Moss 10 times? Or a an uncovered TE running clean up the middle. The only thing mystical about that game is the spell of stupidity McKelvin was under to decide and run that ball out. I swear to God if I was on that team I'd be beating the shit out of him in the locker room right now. Bills fucking suck every year and it's their own fucking fault.

^i am going to assume you shut the game off after the fumble because the throw he made to go ahead in the N-Zone was sick.
a throw where if Peyton made it, i KNOW you would be in here preaching his name for it.
378 yards? :o

That INT return was an incredibly athletic play.

Schobel almost did it again, later in the 4th.

Peyton's throw would have had to have been an over the shoulder finesse throw, because his WRs, especially tight ends cannot adjust to bad throws. Brady just throws in the area and waits for his guys to make a play. It's how he's always been. 378 yards on deep cover 2 while the team is blitzing is easy. Just dump it up the middle quick and let your guys add yards. Remember what Gruden said early on in the game. Historically the Brady run Pats gain almost 60% of their pass yards after the catch.
If Peyton made a high bullet that Clark had to adjust to I'd cheer yes, but I wouldn't hail the throw. Especially if he was just given the ball by the other team. Look through my posts if you want. Every time Manning has been given a game I've recognized it. The Superbowl. Last year against the Texans. Leodis McKelvin won this game for the Pats, not Tom Brady.
-
Crazy game.
He probably ran it out because it was a few seconds before the 2 minute mark and if he downed it it would have saved NE a timeout. So it was a good move to take it out.

finesse bitch lob throw to the defense in the red zone? maybe. :D
i know Leodis was the reason, but only 3-4 QB's in the league could have made that final drive.
378 is 378, he wins games & wins rings something not many QB's can say.
he makes the longer passes when he needs too, but he throws the short stuff to work up to it.

i hate it when teams blow leads smh

No matter how you look at it. It was not a good move to take it out. It was the hands team. They were expecting an onside kick. No one is ready to block and Leodis is trying to break tackles. Bonehead move, and believe me he'll never do it again.
Laugh all you want Click. All it means is Brady is 1 win worse than Bradshaw and 2 or 3 worse than Starr. Manning has more QB talent. It's very simple. A finesse throw right into the hands of a small covered receiver 20 to 30 yards down the field is the hardest throw in football and Brady sucks at it. That's why he's alays been surrounded by the some of the best adjusting WRs in the game and the best blocking WRs to juice yards. I'm secure in the fact Peyton Manning is the best QB of this era. Just as I'm secure in the fact that the Bills gave the game away. If they ran it three times at the 20, then punted it and Brady marched down the field I've give him credit. It's a lot harder to do that than it is marching down slowly when down 2 TDs to win and the D is playing the deep ball and blitzing. Matt Cassel would have driven that down the field no problem. The second drive down the field would have been the hard one and thanks to McKelvin we never got to see that.

na, i'm just not biased. he is mad successful & gets shitted on.

Dick Jauron is the worst coach in the league. How he still has a job is mind boggling.

See, you defend him for the same reason I bash him. He's a very good QB that gets too much credit. Leodis could have fumbled that ball in the endzone for the first ever kick off team TD in history and the headlines would still be "Brady Does It Again" or "Mr Clutch to the Rescue". Deion Sanders would even be arguing that Leodis fumbled it because Brady was in his head.
All I know is they better not repeat this performance against the Jets because Rex Ryan will not show them the same defense with an unprotected deep middle all game like the Bills did.

i looked at the replay of the final drive for the Pats & i remember you telling me (Shallow) that Peyton would put it right over his shoulder.
i mean, taking a look at it again, it seemed Brady (intentional or not, i won't say) put it in the perfect spot, between the defenders.
if he put it over his shoulder, the safety would have either picked it off or at least knocked it away.
my take on it.

In a cover two situation 20 yards down a TE running up the middle is an easy target because both DBs are playingthe corners and the FS is playing shallow (no pun intended). Once a tight end gets past the FS he's an easy target and should be thrown to with the assumption that he'll turn and around and look for the ball. Brady, like anything other QB cannot know which DB is going to get closer or which way the TE is going to turn so he has to just throw it at the TE and wait for him to make a play. Peyton Manning with Ben Watson would have done the exact same thing.
Manning to Clark against a cover 2 would have been different because with 5 yards to spare on that last TD in the endzone Manning would have exposed that cover 2 easy. He would have passed it earlier with the intention Clark would go deep middle and at the back of the endzone arms stretched no DB can get it. The difference is Brady on his best day simply cannot make that throw. He's just not as good talent wise, and very few are. I've got no reason to be a Manning fan. I'm not from New Orleans, Tennessee, or Indy. I'm from Toronto fucking Canada and I became a fan after watching him do what he does for as long as he's done it, better than anyone else I've ever seen. And you can put that talent on any team and have passing success at the least. Taking Brady out of that system and putting him on Detroit or Chicago would be like taking a foot off Shaq's height and expecting him to be an elite basketball player.
Anyway, all of this could have been prevent, from either QB playing for the Pats if the Bills simply did a cover 3. Take away the deep middle keep every pass short and away from the sideline. Let the Pats dink and dunk all the way to the redzone and then play hard D. Even if they get the first TD it'll be with under 2 minutes to go. A first by Buffalo is the game. A half decent punt and and another cover 3 is also the game. Keeping the cover two in the situation they were in was stupid. It leaves the ability for 20+ yard pass plays up the middle and the Pat's OC simply waited till the end to use it on the first drive. Keeping the cover 2 the way it was on the second drive was just plain retarded.
Take Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning and combine them into the best QB you can think of and on that QB's best day he is not leading two TD drives in 5 minutes against a cover 3.

I've never used that argument. The Pats won because the Pats outplayed every team they faced in the post season (except Oakland), not because Brady outplayed every QB he faced in the post season.

Exactly and if you've been keeping up with me over the last while you'd realize my points. Peyton didn't win shit. The Colts did. In fact Peyton wasa better a QB in his last 3 playoff losses than he was in his last 4 wins (the year they won the SB). The Colts won and lost because the Colts were better or worse than the teams they played.
If Manning was on Detroit his entire career he may not have ever made the playoffs once. And if Joe Montana was drafted by the Bucs, you probably wouldn't even know his name.
And if you even think of saying the Bucs would have won SBs with Joe Cool, let me know in advance so I can never respond to you again.

no, you had to give up the inital TD = bad defense
then they fumbled = bad move
then they still could have prevented them again from scoring a TD = terrible defense
plus it was a turnover that could have been avoided in multiple ways, it's not like "damn, good defense".
i agree the Bills will be pretty good, i mean they had that game vs. a top team in Football; i just wonder if the loss will send them down spiraling to a terrible season lol.

There was no preventing the first drive moving down the field. They did nothing wrong for the first part of that drive. When up by two TDs with 5 minutes left the only thign you should be worrying about is giving up a big play, or long bomb for a TD. Letting them go down the field was fine. The only way a team down by that much doesn't go down the field with ease is if the front 4 destroy your o-line and sack you, or if you make horrible throws. New England played well and drove down. The problem in my mind was not switching to cover three for the second half of the drive. Leaving the middle open on a cover 2 when the opponent is 25 yards away makes an up the middle TD catch a strong possibility. Ellison, or probably it should have been Whitner, should have been playing middle and staying behind Watson the whole way. That way if Brady goes deep to him it's broken up or intercepted, and if BRady goes short he's tackled in the middle and the 2 min warning comes up. Then you play close red zone D and hope for a stoppage. If you don't get it, no worries, you're still up by a score and have the ball with less than 2 minutes.
I know I sound like a broken record. But I'm still healing. I grew up a Bills fan, and still am. Add my hatred of all things Brady to the mix and it'll take some time.

^yeah, but since they stayed Cover 2 that was poor defense in my opinon.
you know when the other team is down 11 with 5 mintues to go, they HAVE to be passing.
give up the short stuff & prevent the deep ball, which didn't happen.

It was just a couple of kids from the neighbourhood. They were obviously emotional hurt and right after the game they spray painted the score and some words on his lawn. Another neighbour the next morning cut the lawn to get rid of it. McKelvin will not press charges. He knows he fucked up and he knows those kids fucked up. They may get a slap on the wrist for it. Let's hope he can take it to Tampa next week.
As for the Final drive, before the fumble, they did play well and they did outplay the Pats all game. I don't think it would have been possible to stop the Pats from getting into the endzone that drive. What they could have done better was make them take a longer time to get there. They should not have blitzed at all. Let the front 4 handle the line and then the LB corps can stop the YAC. The cover three was also essential on their half of the field. It would have prevented that Watson TD. The Pats still would have probably got in because Randy was running routes like a champ and Brady was firing on target but it would have been closer to 1 minute left than two minutes left and that would have been the difference. No way does McKelvin come out of the endzone with a minute to go. They still could have gotten an onside kick but whatever. The mistake was the defensive style on that last big drive. It was a coaching failure And I think they know that.
All that being said, the next time they play it'll be Christmas time in Buffalo and Kelsay, Lynch and Poz should all be back. My money is on the Bills that week. It may be fr a playoff spot, it may just be an underdog 4-10 Bills out for blood. But the Bills are going to win that game. I'm calling it now (unless they lose a bunch more guys in the coming weeks).

So you think Poz and Kelsay staying in the whole game and Lynch running wouldn't have meant anything in last week's game? Lynch alone would have extended a few of those drives. And Kelsay in the game would have meant no need to blitz at the end with Poz protecting the short middle and with out a doubt prolonging the first TD pass. I'll accept the argument that the Pats could adjust and win game 2 but to say that the Bills were at their best Monday night is ridiculous. You don't lose your MLB, a top DE, and play with out your #1 RB and play as good as you possibly can.

I dont think so, i dont think Buffalo could have played any better and still lost. Pats will make the adjustments and win by 10 plus
GOOD POINT, BUT THEY STILL PLAYED ABOVE THEMSELVES..LYNCH ALSO WOULDNT HAVE MADE SOME OF THE PLAYS ON THOSE SCREEN PASSES THATJACKSON DID SO U CAN ARGUE THAT EITHER WAY....POZ AND KELS WAS A HUGE LOSS
Look, I might like Peyton a lot, but I'm a Bills guy. I don't think you see any Bills games a year outide of the odd Monday night game. I see every single Bills game, and have seen them since '88. Fred Jackson was going to play and be the screen pass back anyway. What they lost from Lynch was their power run. All those 3rd and longs would have been a better shot at being third and short. Both and Lynch and Jackson can run and catch he ball. It's a two back system but Jackson does not have the strength to move the line like Lynch does. And the huge difference is if Lynch is the game then McKelvin knows they have a real shot at running for 4 yards a carry and making the first down.
They might lose the next game, but no way in hell do the Bills lose on Monday if Lynch was playing. He's as important to the Bills offense as Welker is to the Pats right now. And I think I can say safely that if Welker went down in that game his replacement would not have made the same plays.

^yeah, but since they stayed Cover 2 that was poor defense in my opinon.
you know when the other team is down 11 with 5 mintues to go, they HAVE to be passing.
give up the short stuff & prevent the deep ball, which didn't happen.
they didnt give up the deep ball all night.the Bills outplayed the Pats and had Brady out of rhythm all day they did a great job only givin up short passes on that 2nd to last drive, they played great just made one key mistake...Speaking of which McKelvin got his lawn destroyed by vandalism
The Pats still would have probably got in because Randy was running routes like a champ and Brady was firing on target but it would have been closer to 1 minute left than two minutes left and that would have been the difference. i have the ticket, but no i dont see every play like you. Its youre team you should know them better. I did know they had a 2 back system, i was just proving a point that Jackson made alot of great plays in the passing game, and obviolsy Lynch is the power guy, i think hes fantastic, but u cant honestly tell me the Pats looked good and they still won..

The Pats didn't look good for the entire game minus the second last drive. My point isn't that the '07 Pats would have lost to these Bills with Lynch, Poz and Kels. My point is that the 09 Pats, so far, would have lost to these Bills. If they come out tomorrow and walk over the Jets then maybe it was just a bad day for NE, but if they look like shit tomorrow, win or lose, then maybe this is simply the new Pats.
