Don't expect a huge amount of tracks. 2pac was more about content.

Exactly. Pac always had a story to tell.

well thanks for the help so far :)

People always say Pac wasn't a great lyricist.. It boggles my mind! I don't see how they say that.. True he was always more about passion and delivery, so u can feel what he says.. But his lyrics were amazing, especially on songs about real serious subjects. Maybe he didn't have lyrical gems on battle songs, or just tracks about nothing.. but when he had songs w/ such deep subject matter he always came correct.
Make sure u put these songs on ur tape:
Brendas got a baby
part time mutha
keep your head up
papa'z song
if i die tonight
shed so many tears
lord knows
dear mama
death around corner
life goes on
hail mary
blaspemy
me and my girlfriend
pain
still i rise
staring thru my rearview
pour out a little liquor
how long will they mourn me
letter to my unborn
i wonder if heaven got a ghetto
changes
when i get free
better dayz
who do u believe in

To the above poster, Lyrically 2pac main thing was content. His rhymes improved over time, but Lyrically his complexity was mostly that of the average west coast rapper, Only a few tracks did he really have some the best in the game. His ryhmes were good, but It was normally content...

all of Me Against The World and Makaveli

You should just play him "If I Die 2nite" - it's a standout 'Pac track in terms of lyrics..
-
They say pussy and paper is poetry power and pistols
Plottin on murderin motherfuckers 'fore they get you
Picturin pitiful punk niggaz coppin pleas
Puffin weed as I position myself to clock G's
Polishin pistols prepare for battle pass the pump
When I get to poppin niggaz is droppin then they done
Callin the coroner come collect the fuckin corpse
He got it by killer, preoccuppied with bein boss
2Pac - If I Die 2Nite
Now that's some really lyrical shit, only a few many rappers use alliterations in their lyrics.
-
The ones listed in this thread have most of mine, but ones I like and didn't see mentioned are...
2Pac & Outlawz - Secretz of War
2Pac - Friend Of Me
2pac & Outlawz - Made Niggaz
2Pac & Dogg Pound - In This Life I Lead
