Title: I found more of Islam's influence in the 8 Mile Soundtrack!!!
Post by: infinite59 on November 04, 2002, 04:55:36 PM
Freeway: Muslim rapper, says in the track "8 Miles and Runnin"

"Make salah with my son"

Salah is the Arabic name for prayer in Islam.  Muslims pray 5 times a day.  It is the second of 5 pillars in Islam.

Rakim: Muslim rapper says in the track "R.A.K.I.M"

"Allah who I praise to the fullest"

Muslims only worship Allah.  There is no God but Allah.  He has no son or partner.  There is nothing worthy of our praise but the creator, the most high, Allah!!!

Rakim also says...

"Bismillah"

Which means, "in the name of Allah."  Muslims like to keep Allah in mind at all times throughout the day.  That is why we pray throughout the day, and that is why we say "bismillah" before everything we do.  If you say "bismillah" before you do things such as eating, then you are recognizing that the food on the table is only there because Allah created it, and everything is his, so you thank him for the blessings that he has bestowed.

I noticed the references in Rakim's song, they were quite obvious, but I didn't noticed the bit in the Jay-Z/Freeway song, probably 'cos I usually skip that song, I think it's quite wack  :P But yeah, ain't nothing wrong with pointing these things out, their not hurting anyone, if your not interested then simply don't read/reply the threads /me shrugs

I found more!!!!

Young Zee says in his solo cut...

"On the corner sellin Final Call"

Final Call is a newspaper printed by the Nation of Islam, that was previously known as Muhammad speaks before Farakkan took the primary role of leadership in the Nation of Islam.

Trauma, in case you haven't noticed, the Nation of Islam stopped teaching that the white man was the devil long before you were even born.  They are recovering racists and no longer narrowly nationalist.  The real racists are the Five Percent Nation of Gods and Earths.

By the way, did you pick up a copy?

I've seen Farrakhan say many times on television that the white man is the devil, and his assistant (who was later ostracized) has even went so far as to call black people to kill us.  Nah, i didn't buy it.

Farakaan said this, recently?  You probably took it out of context.  Sometimes your paranoia and naivety gets the best of you.

Speaking of paranoia , does Farrakhan still think that the CIA was responsible for his prostate cancer ?
