Title: What you think of New Boyz album?
Post by: Slikk_J on September 18, 2009, 09:58:50 PM
I'm probably gonna get some hate for saying this,

But although I like my set music (Dogg Pound, 2pac, Alkaholiks etc etc), Im always open minded with my music, especially in todays music state where everything is waterd down and candy coated.

I'm bumping New Boyz - Skinny Jeanz & a mic for the first time, and I have to say, Im linking it.

I mean, its a bit hyphy, bit this and that, and definately new age sounding, but it's something fresh and good to see some kids doing their thing. I mean no real substance apart from their teenage ways, but it's doing what it's meant to for it's intended audience....I give it up to them.

I downloaded it but haven't gotten around to listening to it yet. That "Tie Me Down" shit with Ray J is fuckin bangin.

And you niggas need to stop with the hate. Yeah they're young but if you look at the people holdin down everwhere else, they're in that age group. Drake is 23, Bow Wow is 22. Its time for West Coast artists in our age group to shine.

New Boyz > old niggas that don't know when enough is enough.

Now, watch Snoop put out another garbage cd and further ruin his legacy.

Only problem is they're not making freaking westcoast music. So they not holding down the west nor represent what the west stand for in hip hop.

You mean to tell me the new generation of hip hop to see the west as some new fag swagging tight spandex wearing rappers, making fag swagg music. That's what's ok for the west to be known as? from NWa to that?

No its not. Its close minded and the exact reason why the West can't prosper. What the fuck is "West Coast music"? G-Funk? Rapping about khakis, 40s and low riders? Hell Game does that and niggas still like to bash him for not repping the West enough (ooh Game wore a yankee fitted, Game only works with East Coast artist, blah blah blah). I'm not a fan of the skinny jeans movement but luckily, I don't have to wear skinny jeans or mohawks to LISTEN to a song.

If you don't know or anyone should have to tell you what Westcoast music is you're on the wrong forum then.
We're not even talking content, tough content does rep the west in music, i.e.  Crooked I=West rappers but lyricts like East but never mistaken for nothing  but a west rapper. Kurupt=East Flow but musically west.
Even they spit their kiddie rhymes but kept the actuallu sound West and imagery no fag like they could get a pass.
Tyga of Fag Swagg Entertainment, I mean Young Money is at least more acceptable than this trash.

Game is a stan of many NY rappers that's why he all NY while yelling Westside. He a fake cat anyway.

FYI, rapping Khakis, 40's and Lolo's is West music indeed. Sorry if you don't like such content but it is what it is.

P.S
I'
m not tripping on their lil movement, Skinny Jean, in context of a movemebt thought it is pointless. Hyphy was a movement and dance and all that so it's all good. but their issues i it's wack for one (ok to each his own) but it oozes faggotry and that is unacceptable for such to snucked in to out music. No one can't deny that there's a movement to push acceptance of faggotry into hip hop (kanye, Wayne and others) and this is just futher part of the agenda. beyond that, it's just wack

New Boyz > old niggas that don't know when enough is enough.

True but do you expect them to have the same appeal as Nipsey Hussle, Jay Rock, Eastwood and Crooked I do? They're new, but their lyrics are harder and have a nod to the 90's. To the point where they can be considered timeless.

I did listen to NB's new album and I don't want to sound like a hater, but personally Tyga was better (when it comes to that kind of hip-hop).
