Title: Knocturnal Signs With Shade Sheist and Damizza.
Post by: West_C_Internal on November 05, 2002, 07:50:03 PM
L.A. Confidential and Damizza/Shade Sheist owned Baby Ree Entertainment have inked a deal to allow BR to manage Knoc-Turn'Al. This is a big move for Knoc considering all the muscle Shade and Damizza have flexed this year. I don't know if this had already been mentioned, but Warren G also signed onto Baby Ree 6 months ago. Butch Cassidy "wants on" as well. Shade Sheist also owns a branched production firm that currently holds a roster consisting of Caz, and N.U.N.E. The industry's "most hated" look like they're gonna upset more critics. Ride on Fellaz!

Warren has been in the lab for months now trying to compose a solid album to release next year. Butch Cassidy was actually finished with his album, but he decided to reopen the project and record more material. Expect a stellar release from him next year, the man is very talented. I guess it runs in the family.

Wow.. this is very surprising.  Its good in a way because we all want to hear Knoc come out strong.. but deep down.. I also wanted to see LA Confidential blow up as a label too.  It just really sucks that LA Confidential had such a buzz and nothing to show for it but an EP.  As far as Warren, I thought his last album was SOLID.  In his case, it sucks that he couldnt make it on his own.  Elektra didnt push the album.  His homies didnt really support him or his album and now hes joining forces with (as Money B would say..) NEW NIGGAZ.  Not to say that this isnt cool.. its just not his family.

Other examples of artist fuckin with NEW NIGGAZ would be: Nas goin to Murder Inc.. or Mack 10 goin to CMR.  It just doesnt seem right.. Its becoming more and more of a trend it seems.  Very interesting news.  Thanks for sharing.

Damn Butch Cassidy... he needs to drop a classic he definatly could in my oppinion if he won't fuck it up with wack features. And I don't think he'll do that.

I think I love every or at least almost every part/hook he ever done.

Title: Irregular Spins
Post by: West_C_Internal on November 09, 2002, 11:04:11 AM
Irregular spins? Don't tell me you're a tabloid-junkie as well? You believe anything a "reporter" tells you? Do you have any sense whatsoever on how the radio system works?

I apologize for all the questions, but I really hate an ignorant post.

The real question I will ask though: If you truly believe the allegations against Sheist, then what is it that he has that other artists don't? Major coporations obviously have more money to work with than Sheist, so what would make him so special that he could waltz into the #1 station in the country and sign to their parent company, all to receive spins on records that actually test well? Unless you can answer that question, the phrase "Irregular Spins" just got thrown out of the window.

Title: Get The Facts Straight.

Then Shade Sheist is simply "one-of-kind" because unfortunately for his critics, he keeps records of everything, including his call-out research and bds spins- both which balance hand in hand a justifiable progression of airplay nationally for his records. Simply put, he's earned his spins, he hasn't purchased them. A 'virtual' child of one of the biggest radio conglomerates in the world would not take the risk of toying with "payola" schemes. He has more to lose than anyone.

“Listeners should know that the station has a financial stake in the programming. It calls for disclosure. This doesn’t sound like radio programming. It sounds like a commercial for a company tied to the owners of the station.” TRUE
Title: Critics: Give It Up!
Post by: West_C_Internal on November 13, 2002, 09:48:56 AM
That's a very invalid point. That's just like saying nationally syndicated tv networks can't make their own made-for-tv shows. Beyond that, anyone who really knows Shade Sheist knows who his partner is, and honestly, I don't think anyone really cares. They just want to hear good music from the guy. He officially has the #1 record at Power 106 right now with his single "Wake Up" and as much as critics would love to rain on his parade, his public call-out research records don't lie. They will just have to accept the fact that someone that young can in fact have that much power (no pun intended.)

Power106 has a financial investment in Shade Shiest, which is why they play his songs three times more than the average rap station.

Actually. EMMIS BROADCASTING has a financial partnership with BABY REE Entertainment. Baby Ree manages several known artists and Shade Sheist is one of them. But the reason Shade Sheist records tend to play more than other stations is because discredible "reporters" don't know the first thing about checking the validity of radio research. The research records have been published for a while now, and recently cleared Sheist from any wrongdoing whatsoever. Hence, no recent articles about him and these allegations. They can post incorrect information, but won't admit to a mistake. How convenient.
