Dude makes one bad track and he's washed up what the fuck. Cube Is a legend around these parts and he's allowed to fuck up once in a while.
-
You really think so? Cube for the most part gets royalty treatment, especially here. Now Snoop is a different story. Reviews were pretty mixed about that new track.

Cube steps out the box every once and a while, not as much as Snoop but he does it. He has dabbled with rock, club tracks, etc.

I love Raw Footage, one of the best album I have ever heard.
-
Last Cube track I heard was Raider's Nation and that was dope...
-
Just because of his longevity i'm almost tempted to call Cube the best rapper of all time. He's always been consistent, even his wackiest album wasn't wack. He was involved in so much of the pioneering of rap with NWA then split and had not only a mega successful solo career but a movie career on top of it. He's been in the game over 20 years and I don't care what nobody else says, RAW Footage was fucking great. I dont even care that people hate on the song with Jeezey. Yeh the hook is a bit simple but Cube came hard on it plus a mad beat
Never gonna hear me bash Cube he's the real king of the west coast. He could even turn a talentless hack like Wack 10 into having a few good albums

I am afraid that Ice Cube spent all of his fuck up wildcards on working with Lil Jon.
-
I don't really see Cube Bashing other then the 2 Kid movies which is jackshit compared to the other 25 movies hes done strictly for adult audiences.
I mean basically though some have a problem seeing him under the new production. He still keeps his shit hardcore through it all. I mean he only catches Flack for "Raider Nation" (which I like btw) cause people were expecting a hardcore gangsta rap song, when in reality the song was suppose to be a theme for the Raiders, and is played at games. Which is why it has a rockish feel, and doesn't contain hardcore elements.
Then you got the Hey track receiving criticism even though its just suppose to be a track for the site. Honestly it seems people take a lot of stuff outta context just to create some bad shit 4 him.

I agree. He's a legend. On the same token though, he shouldn't risk his legacy on music experimentation when he doesn't really need to. He's been blessed to have been able to have good movie roles, and break out into all types of movies. Action, Thriller, even Family movies. It's rare that anyone in rap or even music for that matter is given that opportunity. Apart from the hood movies like Boyz N The Hood, and Friday series, ones that stick out in my head are Three Kings, Are We Done Yet, and Anaconda. Other people will know more but damn, usually rappers are given the role of being some 2nd grade drug dealing smuck, that gets owned for the 2 minutes he's on screen. (Example is Snoop or Dre in training day, Game in Street Kings)
Cube has been working hard on both music and movies for the last 20 some odd years, and because his heart is more into the movies, he should just stick with that (no disrespect) because he is given more authority, and his work is able to reach a wider range of audiences. I can watch any of his movies on sky, but I sure as hell can't walk into a CD store and see his latest album for sale

I dont know man i do feel kinda bad for talking shit about Mack but i was listening to the Ipod and theres alot of Mack 10 hits on it and then i listen to soft white and its like damn.
-
I'm a HUGE Cube fan and most people on this site know that but that "HEY" song is not good by any stretch of the imagination, especially after dropping RAW FOOTAGE. And who knows what that track is going to end up on. The fact is, he made it when it shouldn't have been made at all. Seriously, he goes from Hood Mentality to Hey aka from 40 to 20 yrs old. That's not progression, that's digression. Fuck that.

I actually like what ice cube is doing and i like that he mixes with rock/techno/south.. if you want to listen to old sound, go listen to his old albums... personally for me that sound is played out... i like the new shit... I liked Laugh now cry later much better than raw footage

co sign. I liked Raw Footage more but LNCL was a dope ass album too. I think some of his stuff sounds forced at times but I don't mind at all when he tries new things.
-
i actually like Hey. obviously it isn't on the same level as his best songs, but it's a good club track i think
-
haven't heard the song yet but damnn Cube is the best West Coast rapper ever IMO. If not at least top 3 from the West

what if i don't like the corny sound, while not asking for an old sound?

Cube's new raps are like he still stuck in that bumbling Craig character from his 'Are We Done Yet' series.
The beats he getting sent and picking are cheap basement bargains.
The 'Barracuda' project will be make or break for Lench Mob records.
-
cube is the shit went to see him a few mounths ago with wc and crazy toones and its was fucking classic..he puts on a really good show
