Don't be stupid. Why post in a hip-hop forum when you think it's dead? You're just wasting time. Move on with your life and enjoy your rock music with your weak belief that rap is dead.
-
If you think rap is dead your an idiot.

Damn I've copped around 10 new albums this year and all of them have been dope. Sure as hell aint dead for me

It's true that Hip-Hop Is Dead. That's why Nas said it.
It really hasn't been alive since 03' when Get Rich Or Die Trying and 8 Mile were still burning the charts. Underground acts like Jedi Mind Tricks were hott around the time of their Servants In Heaven album, but even the underground is dying out these days, I thought Slaughterhouse was a big letdown.
-
but hip hop bein dead is one thing and artists burin the charts is another
an artist can be makin noise but not a huge impact but does that mean the rap game is dead?
not really, jus that certain artist isnt sellin big numbers on the charts but that artist is workin day n night to get his name out there to sell big even tho he prolly wont, but hes still workin like crazy
but then on the other hand you got a garbage rapper or artist etc...like plies or akon or whoever
that garbage artist goes and sells their image and whores themself into the muzik bidness to be accepted for whatever they can be accepted for which equals to bein a bitch (for which they will later complain and talk shit about)
so on the bigger scale lets say we got
nas vs edo g
nas is a known rapper but hes not makin the dope muzik he once made, but hes complainin bout hip hop bein dead, some liked his albums last couple of years, some didnt point is he isnt on the same level (IMO and many would agree)
but then you have edo g, a underground less known artist but tours, puts cd's out etc..
so rap bein dead..yeah its dead but nas in certain cases is also to blame for it jus like jay-z, 50, mop etc...for not makin the muzik they once made
and yeah jay-z sold millions of records but was it muzik worth while?
was the muzik jay-z put out classic?
was the muzik jay-z put out as good as it could have been?
I dont think it was

I can't put Jay in that category for me because honestly while I'm not one of his biggest fans, Blueprint 3 was on point when it came to the lyrics. He isn't doing what he did like 8 or 9 years ago but he still has a commanding flow and isn't just about phoning it in over a catchy beat. Some might feel otherwise but I like what Jay's doing.

At the moment hip-hop is so corny that I don't even admit listening such genre of music. Hip-Hop is just dead.

UGK - UGK 4 Life
Method Man & Redman - Blackout 2
DJ Quik & Kurupt - BlaQKout
Maino - If Tomorrow Comes
Yukmouth - The West Coast Don
Slaughterhouse - Slaughterhouse
Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II
Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon: The End of Day
all dope releases that I bought this year, and also Ghostface, M.O.P., Mack 10, and Warren G just dropped some dope new albums, and Z-Ro has a new tape out which shits on most albums... so no, rap is not dead, you simply just aren't looking 8)

Doggy it's just you are getting out of touch with pop culture. It's OK, happens as we get older, but your too young to have this happen to you. There is nothing Soulja Boy is doing that a young LL didn't do, there is nothing Young Geezy is doing that a young MC Eiht didn't do. It's just you lost touch with the current mainstream and that's fine, I mean it is hard to see the positive in Kanye West but then you have to see the negative in people like Melle Mel (who had more of an ego than Kanye). So Rap ain't dead, Hip-Hop might be dead, but Rap is alive and on peoples iPods.
-
Maybe sales wise but there is till good music out there.

They're making noise everywhere else. Doesn't matter if they're not popular, acts like Atmosphere, B. Ali, and Evidence have extremely solid fan bases, especially Atmos. Evidence came to my city in December and I didnt expect the place to be packed as it was, I tried to go to an Atmosphere concert last year in Bakersfield and couldn't cuz that bitch was sold out. Just cuz they aint makin noise out there doesn't mean they're not makin noise elsewhere.
-
most of the girls that I know that listen to rap want to fuck the shit out of Ant from atmosphere. he's popular HOMMIE
