Title: Was Tecmo Bowl series better than the Madden series
Post by: M Dogg™ on October 14, 2009, 10:55:38 PM: I downloaded Tecmo Bowl for my Wii, and I forgot how great that game. Though the new version doesn't have actual NFL teams because of the contract that EA Sports has with the NFL. Then I ran across these on YouTube.

Yeah i always liked the 2K series a lot more than Madden, sucks that they lost the NFL license.

Gotta agree. Plus I prefer to play from left to right. Unlike madden where you're playing down to up. Running plays are better to me from a left to right angle than down to up.

It's actually the reason why EA signed an exclusive contract with the NFL. First off, the game was better, it was cheaper and it was for every system. So them EA decided they needed to protect their brand. I am mad because this effects Tecmo Bowl on my Wii, i DL'd that sucker last week and all the teams didn't have nicknames and Bo Jackson was just #34. I was kind of mad, so I made this thread... lol. But in today's times it effected NFL2K series, which is a slap in the fact of football gamers everywhere.

Side note, EA tried to do the same with the NBA, but David Stern wisely told them to fuck off, saying that the different NBA games is what makes the NBA fun. And of course NBA2K SHITS on NBA Live series.
