Despite all the free promotion that 50 Cent has given Fat Joe, for his new album, J.O.S.E. 2- Joe still couldn't manage to move more than 9,000 copies in his first week. Fat Joe sold very disappointing numbers according to Nielsen's Soundscan. He moved exactly 8,343 copies.
J.O.S.E. 2 was Fat Joe's 9th Studio album and was promoted very poorly. Even Fat Joe himself admitted that many consumers didn't even realize he had an album coming out until 50 Cent started announcing it. In fact, Fat Joe even thanked 50 Cent for the free promotion, calling 50 Cent "his biggest fan." Well apparently even Fat Joe's "Biggest fan" couldn't save Fat Joe's flop of a new album.
Do you think DJ Khaled is still answering Fat Joe's phone calls???

Not suprised the album was trash.
Shame really, joes had some good tracks over the years and he was the shit in D.I.T.C.

Thats what he gets for selling out. No-one gives a fuck about his fat arse anymore. On his last album he still had a couple of proper hip hop tracks on it, but with this album he just completely went the pop way. Not even Rae could save it as that song was arse aswell.

Hahaha, like 50's gonna sell that much more.

What, than 8300? Of course he will. He will definitely sell about 200-300 thousand first week in the States.

Well to be honest, I don't care how much he'll sell as long as he makes a good album and no more candy shop shit.

This is a quote from a sha money XL interview, hope what he says about BISD is true.
As an executive producer of 50 Cent’s upcoming album, what can be expected from Before I Self-Destruct?
I mean, honestly man , this s——t is gonna be up there with Get Rich or Die Tryin’. He’s taking it back and the concepts … of the songs, the pouring his heart out, giving you his real blood on the table. And I mean honestly, the beats are amazing, the concepts are incredible. It’s just gonna be a f——in’ incredible album. That’s what I really can say. I can’t [get] into too much detail about giving it up ‘cause you know people are still studying him—but I’m talking about hooks, concepts, rhymes—I mean his blood is in the pen. He’s writing it with blood, you know what I mean, so he’s really gonna give you all of him[/i]

an unbiased opinion no doubt ::)
as for Fat Joe, i hope it proves to him that he's fucked up with the direction he's taken in the last few years...he needs to get back to his roots, get back to working with D.I.T.C. and its producers especially, and prove he's still a credible hip hop artist...cos he's lost that with this album...a blatant attempt to gain airplay and record sales which just isnt very good at all...and was unsuccessful to boot lol
-
And NY would accept him back all of a sudden if he begins repping it and making NY sounding hip-hop? Damn!

i dont really think thats the case...maybe its too late for all that lol...but i think they would certainly have more respect for him, both as an artist, and as a person, if he went back to his roots, which was the underground...

Fat Joe sucks nowadays. He needs to get back to his lyrical shit if im gonna listen to him. He has the ability to make good hip-hop but instead he fucks it up and make bullshit music. Get back to that "Twinz" mode or that "Johnny Blaze" shit. He killed that shit!
