imagine if he can give Pujols the steroids that Mcgwire himself took 10 years ago...Pujols could hit .450! lol

on the real tho...Mcgwire was a .262 career hitter...he only stayed in the league cuz of his HR prowess and then he took roids at some point

Seriously though, McGwire had a hell of an eye throughout his career so that's a positive attribute that can be shared.

but yeah man dude was great at HRs...never hit .300 in a full season that i can remember tho.

That's when he had his huge increase in numbers at the age of 32, but he's always had great plate discipline. Same way how Bonds had the same walk rate Pre and Post 2001, if you take out the IBB (which is affected by the type of numbers he's putting up)

Either way, talented players do not make the best coaches anyway. It's more of a teacher role where a player's past, talent wise, has little to do with how successful that person will be as a coach.
