Detroit lyricist Royce Da 5 9 debuted at no. 111 on The Billboard 200 this week with his third solo album, Street Hop.

For the disc, Royce recruited Bun B, Busta Rhymes and Phonte of Little Brother, in addition to his Slaughterhouse partners-in-rhyme. Street Hop managed to sell 4,600 copies in its first week.
Jay-Z continued to lead the rap pack at the top of the charts. The Brooklyn rap legends latest, The Blueprint 3, fell one spot to no. 4 this week, moving 42,800 units. Since its release seven weeks ago, BP3 has sold a total of 1,159,300 discs.
Black Eyed Peas held tight at no. 6 this go round. The E.N.D. added 35,200 to its overall tally of 1,269,800.
T. Dot upstart Drake climbed four sports to no. 23 this week with his So Far Gone EP. In six weeks fans copped 197,300 copies of the CD, with 17,300 being sold in the last sales cycle alone. Surprisingly the Young Money rapper has a higher overall sales figure than fellow rookie Kid Cudi. The Cleveland MCs disc Man on the Moon: The End of Day, which landed at no. 61 this week, has moved 183,300 units in the same period of time.
Next week look for Rick Ross Triple Cs album to appear on The Billboard 200.

I'm pretty sure the album would of sold more if the music quality wasn't so bad. That grouprip was horrible. But it still deserves to sell more than that. 4600. Thats sickening.
-
can u recoup off 4600 sales? how do these numbers compare to other indie releases this year?
-
4,600 copies :'(
-
5k for Royce, damn, dude deserves atleast 30k in first week
-
Damn those numbers are horrible, Royce needs major backing and a big push
-
lol jayz buys way to many of his own albums.
-
considering his vids did nothing and he pissed off his fans with the mixing... well I won't excuse it. I'm just sayin.
-
dam all this slaughterhoues hype and all dat shit and less than 5k dat shit terrible crooked i probably due twice that smh
-
I was disappointed. I thought the album would be more mature and personal with the majority of tracks on the level of Part of Me or Shake This but instead they were arguable the best tracks. It's a rather forgettable album.

Dont know how anyone can be surpised at these numbers.Nobody sells that much these days.Even Jay-z isnt going to see two million.Nor is eminem.Hell that kid cudi album had a huge single and its not even going to move 200k.Rappers arent even going gold these days. Its a reflection of the economy. If I could Id buy every album, but thats not reality. If someone has the choice of 20 dollars worth of food or a cd they can get for free, food is going to win.Of course theirs soem people who dont buy anything aka leechers.Even if its their favorite album by their favorite artist they still wont buy it.

20? New cd's and more underground releases cost atleast 30 here =/
That's why I haven't bought any tech cd's eventough he's one of my favorite rappers.
And I can't even find the new tech or royce albums on the biggest dutch cd retailer.

Tbh i thought the album was kinda boring. Dunno not many tracks stood out in terms of production and the whole lyrical monster style gets played out after a couple tracks in...

Recieved this in the mail last night, the mixing is pretty average, real dull kinda sound. Some songs sound better, most don't, I don't get how the could fuck it up so bad...
