Title: Do ya'll think Paid tha cost to be da boss will have a great first week sale
Post by: kalliweed on November 13, 2002, 02:41:30 PM
I really don't think priority and capitol records are doin that much promotion for the album..its a shame...check out jay-z and missy promotions...it wont sell 2 hundred thousand records in da first week...probably be like No Limit Top Dogg..oH well..maybe its da single..i know "snoop dogg" and lay low got more airplay both on radio and t.v...Guidance!!

yeah i am anticipating very low first week sales and not because of promotion just because the first single hasn't come even close to blowing up i never hear it on the radio and the video is never shown

Exactly! and not only will the album sell barely 200k in the first week, it will BARELY push platinum this time around i think. Damn this is gonna be a fucekn DISAPPOINTING album for snoop saleswise.

Nah Snoop will sell 300,000-400,000 his first week...Snoop ain't the type of rapper who needs the promotion cause the streets are already feinding for this album...Plus the fact that it hasn't been bootleged yet will help his sales...

Pac got pushed back? Damn.

Snoop will do well. I seen a commercial for his album on BET and his video gets constant video-play and it's on 106 & Park. The song gets spins in clubs too. I predict 200-300K.

I dont think the album will debut at #1 but it will sell about 200,000- 300,000.  People are talking about the single but singles don't mean shit.  Jay-Z did not even have a fucking Video until the day before.  Bone sold 92,000 in the first week and they had no video and they don't have as many fans as snoop.  Selling records is not about singles its about fans.  Cam'ron had two huge singles and he is not even plat yet, cuz he dont have a million fans.  The last meal sold 400,000 in the first week, but not becuase of the single it was becuase snoop was fresh off the "up in smoke tour".  The only reason top dogg's first week was shitty was becuase of "The game to be sold".  Snoop won't debut at #1 cuz that county singer Twaine is droping the week before & her last album sold 14 mill. but top 5 fo sho.

I see this album pushin' 200-300k in tha first week......I mean shit look at "Tha Last Meal", it pushed 400,000 in tha first week and "Snoop Dogg Pt. 2" was not gettin' near as much airplay and hype as "2 Tha Palace".......and as for this album pushin' platnium....there is no doubt this album will push platnium....like I have been sayin'.....Snoop gonna shut up tha hataz this time around!!! Its not gonna be no Doggystyle Pt. 2 or nuttin' but it gonna be hot shit fa sho!!!

Snoop's 1st week sales...
Doggystyle- 800,000
Doggfather- 480,000
Da Game- 520,000
Top Dogg- 187,000
Last Meal- 400,000

Judging by this I'll stick to my prediction of 300-400,000...It's coming out the week of Thanksgiving which is the biggest  shopping week of the year other than Christmas...

THIS IS COMPLETE BULLSHIT! Everything Snoop Dogg touches turns to platinum!
I'd say 300-400.000 the first 1-2 weeks and it ends up selling multi platinum, how
much, I can't say right now... But a flop saleswise? That's not wise said

ok all you snoop dick riders...face it...snoop isnt gonna sell a lot this time...i think he barely pushes plat....why??...well they arent promoting probably because the album is no good.....and the first single...blah(me vomiting)....i dont know many people outside of the dickriders on this board who think the last meal was anyting good...then doggystyle allstars was a flop not to mention it sucked...the last eastsidaz didnt do good....last meal sold well cause i remember it was heavily promoted...now im not haten...i like snoop a lot(doggystyl and nl topp dogg are two of my favs)...but he has really fallen lately and im not the only one noticing...and having no dr dre doesnt help either

it bothers me when i hear the new snoop joint cause i am quick to turn the channel...any single snoop has ever released i have bumped until it played out (except what's my name pt 2) i sure hope the rest of the album is waaaay better than the single. the last meal is the first snoop cd i never bought besides dead man walking...and i'm hoping that his new one won't be the second...

oh yea, tha doggfather is classic, i don't think has ever been the same since he left DR...that shit was gangsta, peace.

Well I dunno, but I'll tell you this:

The CD isn't released yet, nobody has heard more than a few cuts, so who the fuck cares?
