I'll take some classic gangsta QuiK over anything EXCEPT DETOX....
-
detox !
-
safe n sound production > doggystyle and chronic production
but dr'es cast of EMCEEs was better than the ppl Quik offered like Hi C
-
Dr. Dre fell the fuck off, so this is a no brainer: DJ Quik!
-
90s Quik. More of a fan of Quiks. I'm sure Detox will be great, but who knows what sound Dre is going for with Detox.
safe n sound production > doggystyle and chronic production
That's a big statement. I'd say Doggystyle/Chronic > Safe + Sound, only just. Doggystyle just blows everything else away.
-
I love Quik's shit to death but I'd rather hear someone try to create something new than just do the time warp thing. Bottom line: Dre and Quik are the two baddest mother fuckers to ever mess with rap music.
-
Get the hell outta here , Quik aint the same and Dre is taking too fuccin long to make a album ...
Id rather have another
The Clicc - Game Related
MC Eiht - We Come Strapped , Section 8
Westside Connection - Bow Down
Too Short - Cocktails , Shorty The Pimp , Life Is Too Short , Get In Where I Fit In
E-40 - In A Major Way
ETC ETC ETC 8) 8)
-
Both have their flaws.
*I don't know how much Dre's production has evolved from 2001, but if they're like how Relapse and the leaks sound I can't say it's worth it. Let alone various ghost-writers.
*In the early 90's DJ Quik could only rap about having sex (except when he was dissing MC Eiht or Tim Dog) and eversince Mausberg died he's only rapped about how sad his life is.
In the end I'd rather have Nipsey Hussle, Bishop Lamont or Problem's debut albums.
-
Well, we already have a early 90`s type Dj Quik album, so of course Detox.. Dont think Detox will be as good as everyone hopes. I Think Dre knows this and therefor wont relase it.

I think he has a definite intention to release it but putting out an album that can holds it own with his first two is a daunting task in itself, let alone the fact that the wait has become so epic that anything short of "the greatest album in the history of the world" will be a dissapointment to many.
-
i have to agree, i think detox has to be so mind blowing that it blows the chronic & 2001 away, i don't know if dre has that but i wouldn't soubt it. but i would love to hear some dj quik

To regain some confidence (& FANS) over DJ Quiks experimental approach lately, he needs to drop a "Lost Tapes" album of material. A double disc. 1st disc containing his unreleased Quik is the Name/Way Too Fonky/Safe & Sound tracks, and the 2nd disc containing his unreleased rhythm-alism/Balance & Options tracks. Projects like these usually restore some support from their older fan base doubtful of their talents. It also helps to hype and promote any current projects they have lined up.
^^^
I would probably choose that over Detox
-
Quik.
-
u cant really choose detox cuz IT DOES NOT EXISTS!
how the fuck can u choose somethin that u havnt heard yet?
either way ill go wit DJ Quik cuz i love that funky shit

So we can't choose an album that "doesn't exist" even though it's being worked on right now but we can pick some hypothetical album that is never going to exist and is more or less a pipe dream for people who can't get over the fact that 1994 was a decade and a half ago?

"haters say dre fell of.." :D
-
Detox, because you never know who or what Dr. Dre will be working with.
-
"haters say dre fell of.." :D
But rap's changed, we wanna know how he feels about it.
-
Detox, cause I already have traumas and blackouts...
-
"haters say dre fell of.." :D
But rap's changed, we wanna know how he feels about it.
And if the haters ain't up on thangs....

back then he hadn't fallen off yet. dre's discography from the last 5 years speaks for itself.
-
I'll take anything over Detox - can't believe people still trippin' over this bullshit..!
-
What's the third option?
-
I want both of them honestly. But honestly to all of you talking about older 90's music. Good music is good music period, regardless of when it was made.
