I know the sample is from Leon Haywoods song, but still, Mariah jacked two Westcoast classics for her new album! Bullshit! Actually, Jd produced the song, so fuck him too.........and if anyone says, "well, this will put the westcoast back on the map", then fuck that too! I'm sure the song will sound tight, but R&B jacks worse than hiphop now! If incredible talents like Whitney Houston and Mariah cant make original music, this is pretty sad!
-
one word..suge knight is broke!!...he's sellin all da classic deathrow material
-
bullshit.... u cant stop them sampling the same song G Thang sampled... they arent sampling G Thang - just the same song ::)

/\/\/\ Exactly.
Mariah CD is dope, check the Camron joint.

I know the sample is from Leon Haywoods song,
Isnīt his name Leon Hayward ? ;)
btw itīs "I Wanna Do Something Freaky To You"

But yet it's alright for Dre to do the same thing, LOL. Are you kidding me? "If Incredible talents like Dr. Dre can't make original music, this is pretty sad!"
Everybody knows where the beat came from. Rollingstone named it the single of the 90's. Plus, Mariah's talent deserves respect, so she can jack whatever the hell she wants. All it's gonna do is get that westcoast sound out there again.
Oh, and it's Leon Haywood, not Heyward, LOL Peace~

every dope track from backn da days is gettin ripped off by rnb bitches right now !!!

Man, don't you realize Rap's been doing the same thing since inception? LOL How come it's alright that Rap rips off every dope '60's and '70's song, but yet it's a shame when Mariah rips off a rap song? Do you realize how many tracks in rap are sampled, and basically steal the fame from the o.g. tracks? Look at "changes" from tupac for instance, the dopest part was the hook, that's what everybody sings, and it's totally lifted, beat's totally lifted, etc. almost every major rap song is like that.
-
word king trauma as long as the music is bumpin....i dont give a fuck

Word, agree 100 %

Don't get me wrong, I ain't hatin on hiphop, of course it's fine to sample stuff, just don't say it's alright for pac but wrong for Mariah. Peace~
-
Trauma, i know rap has been doing the same thing since it began, dont worry, i know my history. I just think it is CRAZY that r&B has to do this shit too, what about doing something original! I got major respect for people like Mariah and Whitney, whcih is why it pains me to see them doing shit like this! Mariah has done it too many times now (Shook Ones, Aint no Fun, G thang, Know How we do it, etc)......and Whitneys next single samples the Isley's Brothers song with the beat used on INC RIDE, Bury Me a G, and a billion other songs.
To me, rappers have always took beats cuz they needed something to rap over back in the dayz when they were in the park! It is almost the essence of rap to take something already done and make it your own! But now all successful R&B jacks popular cuts, and they are jacking songs that fro the most part are not at all old yet.......peace
-
yea how can you say its alright for rapppers to sample old songs but not for rnb artists? like trauma said, most of the biggest and best and greatest rap songs are sampled so you cant say its ok for them to do that and not for rnb singers
-
Mariah's just looking for some hits man...The last time she had a big hit was like 3 or 4 years ago with that song with Jay-z...Anyway she's always sampled and worked with rappers, Puffy, ODB, Snoop, Bone Thugs, Jay-z, Mobb Deep etc...

doin that shit for commercial success...
i got some albums by some dope underground sac town artists
and some undaground chicano artists...
them homies also takin beats just half a year old,
but they just usin it for their own rap...
just to got somethin to rap over...not for commercial success...
right now im disrespectin all those rnb bitches
for not beein creative enough to make their own shit...
instead they take beats from luniz, beatnus, raekwon, dre, cube, tupac ( kill kill ) etc..

ok..you say its ok for rappers to sample cause they sample songs from the 60's and its not ok for rnb singers to do it cause they sample songs from the 90's ? lol, emm ok...really what differnce does that make?
and then you say the "rnb bitches" shouldnt sample 90's hits (whatever) but yet its alright for your lil bay homies to sample 90's song cause theyre not lookin for commercial success. that makes sense again ::)

yea it's ok to sample a song from back n da days that the people dont know in this time ...but it's not ok to take the same beat that was used just f.e. 2 years ago
just to get some recognition, cause you fell off hard, like mariah carey did...
them bay homies aint got the money to produce their own shit
so they take some beats and just rap over em...
and now holla back what you dont understand!

lol now its a money thing ::) yea right. its probably more expensive to get the rights for the songs than make your own beats. hell even those internet mcs on this board can make dope beatz so dont blame the money for this.
and you say its ok for rappers in general to sample old songs cause people dont know the old tracks. so you just proved that they are doing the same thing. you say its ok cause you dont know the original songs, but people over 25 with a tiny bit of music knowledge know that alot of rap songs are sampled. anyways, sampled is sampled, theres no difference if its a song from the 60's or 90's. and i dont see nothing wrong with that, hip hop was formed of samplin so wheres the problem if rnb cats do it too

i didnt say that i dont know the OG versions...
i said the people in deeez days...
there's a difference between internet mcs and muthafuckaz out there on the street...
my problem :
rnb cats are samplin tracks that are only up to 5 years old...
tracks that were sampled before ( no prob wit dat )
but they just usin that sample cause they know
that shit was heat 5 years ago, wit rap vocals...
i see nuthin good in samplin, when you're usin about 5 different samples, from da last 5 years ( beatnus, la the darkman etc ) in just 1 song : j lo
reply please !
interesting post !
