Ugh.In british columbia they will be introducing a harmonized sales tax.Basically they are combing both the provincial tax and government taxes together for a uniformed tax.Now as it stands psty and gst are around 7 percent each,the hst will be 12 percent total.Problem is the hst tax will be imposed on every item doesnt matter if its food or what have you.And what are they doing with all the extra cash?Using it to help big business.
Its hard enough to pay your way through life.Especially here in B.C. where we have the lowest mininum wage of any province in Canada while having the highest cost of living.In the past 20 years,and this applies to everyone not just people in B.C.Wages have remained stagnant while the prices of neccesities in life has more then quadrupled.
The middle class is slowly being weeded out and more and more people are being forced into lower class living.We all take it bending over allowing the few to control the many.Its always been like this.Ive never understood how people just idly sit by in life and allow it to happen.We as a people are being bought in shiny toys,iphones and cars,500 dollar shirts.Items you buy that mean nothing after you buy it.I remember reading the makers behind the fight club movie,how they actually felt like this movie would change the way people thought.But what happened?Instead of soaking in the powerful message of the film idiots saw people hitting eachother in the face and thats it.They loved it for all the wrong reasons.Maybe thats why we are such a lost cause.Maybe people dont even deserve to be treated differently then they are now.Maybe im just a little bit drunk

I don't think the HST is as big of a deal as everyone thinks it is. It will hurt the consumers a little bit, but having to pay an extra 7% on food and services isn't a huge deal. The HST will help ALL businesses, not just the big ones. It'll save time (=money) on bookkeeping and accounting, and businesses will be able to write off their HST expenses (like they currently do with GST). It will also allow a business to sell retail easier (currently you have to register for a pst number).
The minimum wage thing is stupid. I don't know why people are so upset about it. Just because the minimum wage is so low, doesn't mean you're stuck making that. Some jobs are only worth the $8.00 (or whatever is it) per hour. Increasing the minimum wage right now will hurt small business causing them to fold. The economy can't handle it right now.
The Gov't is doing the right thing by supporting business right now. The economy is based around business. If we want the economy to get better, we have to support local business.

Ive never even seen an Asian person in a PF Changs. The servers are all White, and the cooks are all Mexican lol. The outerspace line was kinda funny tho...
