Game charges between 5K (homie rate) too 25K for a verse.... so the only way this guy owns these verses, is if he paid BIG money for them and bought them as "Buy Out Verses"

Be VERY, VERY CAREFUL! Everything this guy seems to be involved in business-wise has a very suspicious nature surrounding it. He tried selling the One Nation album through digital outlets some time back and the official rights owner popped up and said he didn't authorize it to him or his company. I think there's a thread on this board from someone who bought a verse awhile back and there was some problem. Generally speaking, he always seems to have an excuse as to why these things keep happening but it's always someone else's fault. I can't stress this enough. Google this guy's name and read what other people who've bought from or done business with him have to say and make up your mind from that.

Also, why is he announcing a SUMMER SALE at the end of November?

Wow, blast from the past.

This verse was originally for some girl.  It was a Meech Wells beat starring the female artist featuring Kokane & Snoop Dogg.  I remember hearing the original some time ago, either from DubCNN or Westcoast2K.  The track ended up on Shortyo's old artist Smooth's album.   If you hear that line where Snoop spells out Calvin Broadus, then line after is supposed to say "_________ (the chick's name) the goddess)" but for some reason, Shortyo put his name in there as the goddess.  Go figure.

I did business with Affiliated in the past, they paid me so I have nothing negative to say about Smooth and/or Shortyo in regards to their business practices towards me; however, I question this move of selling off already-used verses to up-and-coming artists who don't know no better.

SHORTYO IS THE MOST WELL KNOWN FAKE/SCAMMER/FRAUD EVER TO HIT THE NET....

That Snoop verse was used by Shortyo on his artist Smooth's album in 2002...then Smooth got exposed on the old dpgrecordz.com forums when the REAL accapela leaked and it was a snoop ft kokane song. Smooth was a fake crip too and had pix in blue durag throwin gang signs, he got exposed like this all the time.

ALL THEM VERSES ARE JUST STOLEN ACCAPELLAS AND U WILL GET SUED IF U TRY TO RELEASE THEM.

Here's the bottom line. If you're an indepedent artist without an agent or legal management, don't even bother! Point blank. THERE IS SOMETHING HE ISN'T TELLING YOU! If you want to network with artists, deal with the artist direct. This screams out being the same kind of scam as "paid distribution". There are hundreds of thousands of people who dream of being rappers so telling them they can get a Snoop or Game verse for cheap is a good way for someone to get extra money off you. If this was legit and this guy had a major distribution deal with Koch, he could sell these verses to major artists and make way more money than he would sending out e-mails to aspiring rappers. I mean, does anyone buy that someone with decent connections is going to take a potentially-valuable Snoop or Game or Lil Wayne verse and out of the goodness in his heart sell it cheaply to the first basement rapper who can raise 5 or 6 grand? It's either something he legally owns and can't get the artists' label to clear (ownership of verse is one thing but label clearances are a whole different animal altogether) or it's something he knows he can sell to some rich schmuck who doesn't know better. There are probably plenty of people who will tell you that they are dying to help out young, indepenent artists who can't get their foot in the game. What they actually are doing is fishing for "young, naive aspiring music artists who don't know their assholes from their elbows when it comes to contracts and the legal aspects of the music business." The kind of people who will send their demo tape and a $500 check in exchange for a fake legal form that isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Nobody who knows anything is going to sell a legally-licensced Snoop Dogg verse to some no-name artist. Like the old saying goes, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." Do your homework here, kids. Ask the right questions. From my perspective, selling a Lil Wayne verse for way below market value makes no business sense at all, especially when you supposedly have the resources to put it out yourself. The only way it makes sense is if the person in question is selling the verse to multiple high-bidders knowing that they have no clue at all what to do with it. I can't say it's an absolute scam because I don't 100% know that but something ain't right in Denmark, especially since now he's saying the Snoop verse that was on his homeboy's album has now not been "officially released". Caveat emptor!!!!!
